Ocean inspired top floor apartment surrounded by Tropical Landscape in a rural and safe neighborhood. Easy access to El Rodeo & Peace University, with bus station, supermarket and restaurants (soda) across the street. The room is beautifully appointed to the east (wake up with the sunrise!) and overlooks the lush green of Brasil. The apartment is shared with myself and Puka, a well educated and friendly dog. I am a biologist and am happy to provide unique travel tips off the beaten path!

The space
The visitor's room and private bathroom and my room and bath are located on opposite sides within the apartment, which provides great privacy. The apartment is throughout decorated with unique items that resemble my passion (and profession) for ocean conservation and endangered species, with some related books to consult from. Inthe visitors closet there is a small book-exchange, take one - leave one!

Guests have their own plates and cups and the coffee pot is always filled. All other kitchen appliances (dishwasher, fridge, cooking ware, cutlery, etc.) are shared. The condominium hosts a 25m long lap and tanning pool, along with a well-equipped gym for the guest's use. My second pet (Cufy the robot) cleans every day, but you might find one or the other dog hair. The apartment is on the 5th and top floor of a well-maintained Condominium and boasts incredible views on the surrounding, lush green neighborhood, especially on the large balcony, where Puka loves to watch the squirrels play. There is fantastic bird-watching (i.e. the keel-billed Toucan!) just from the balcony or in the property's gardens, with guides on birds, reptiles and marine life readily to consult.

Where you’ll be

San José, Brasil de Mora, Costa Rica

Brasil de Mora is a tranquil neighborhood just before Cuidad Colon and basically composed of green hills with large mansions. Just in front is a small store ("pulpería"), which has almost everything you'd expect from a supermarket. Two typical Costa Rican restaurants ("sodas") are just steps away and further down the street (about 200m) there is a bakery and greengrocer.

Despite its quick access to Highway 27 (only 5min by car), which brings you in less than an hour to the Central Pacific Ocean (Jaco, Playa Hermosa, Carara National Park) and in about 35 minutes to San Jose Center, it is surrounded by lush tropical forests boasting an incredible biodiversity, especially of birds. Brasil de Mora and Cuidad Colon are characterized by a transitional climate, ranging from Tropical Rain Forest to Pre-Mountain Forests, that means that it is much warmer than San Jose, and less rainy than the Pacific, almost always maintaining a pleasant breeze. Toucans, parrots, parakeets, egrets, motmots, cuckoos, and many species of hummingbirds are easily observed from and around the building.
