About this listing

Our two bedroom apartment is situated in a gated development in the Financial District and near Trinity College and Convention Centre. Each room has a standard double bed. Direct access to the garden, an oasis of quiet in the city. Free parking.

The space

Bright ground floor apartment with direct garden access. The apartment is a two bedroom apartment and is the largest of its type in the development. The apartment is a short walk from the city center, the International Financial Services Centre, the National Convention Centre and Trinity College. The RDS is a 35 minute walk or 10 minutes on the train. There are two bedrooms with double bed in each.

There is complete access to the apartment by guests including free access to the apartments wi-fi and cable.

You will be met on arrival by Helen or Dermot who will be available to assist with any queries during your stay. We will look forward to meeting with you.

The apartment is close to the Financial District and within minutes walk to downtown Dublin, IFSC, Trinity College, the Bord Gais Theatre, O2 concert venue and the National Convention Centre, Dublin. Short walk to rail and tram line connections.

Apartment block is in a secure gated development.

SUPERMARKET NEXT DOOR!
There is a large supermarket next door where you can get everything you need....including a hot food counter and an in-house coffee shop and creperie. Opens 6.30am to 10pm weekdays. 10am to 8pm weekends.

U2
Windmill Lane is famous as the site where Irish rock band U2 recorded some of there most famous albums, including The Joshua Tree. It has become a shrine for U2 fans internationally. The studio closed a number of years ago.


The apartment is close to Luas Red Line tram stop at Financial Centre and the DART rapid suburban rail system. The nearest Green Line Luas stop is at St. Stephens Green, about a 15 minute walk. There is one car parking space available on request. Close to all bus links.

DIRECTIONS FROM CITY CENTRE

If approaching from O'Connell Bridge on O'Connell Street, take a walk down the riverside on Burgh Quay and proceed for about ten minutes until you come to the Sean O'Casey pedestrian bridge. Walk on for about 100 meters and on your right you will come to Windmill Lane. You will see the gates of the apartment building directly in front of you. The block is directly beside a Euro Spar supermarket. You have now arrived!

DIRECTIONS FROM AIRPORT

If arriving at Dublin Airport the best way is the 747 Airlink bus outside arrivals terminal. Fare 6 euro, 3 euro child fare. Bus leaves every 15 minutes.

Terminal 1: Exit main arrivals hall, cross the road and the Airlink Express Bus will be on your left hand side.

Terminal 2: Follow the signs for Taxis, take the lift or escalator to ground floor. The Airlink Express Bus departs from here.

Ask to be let off at the Jury's Inn Hotel on Custom House Quay. You will see a pedestrian bridge directly across to the opposite side of the river. Cross the bridge and turn left for about 200 meters. You will see a Snap Printing shop on the right hand side and on the corner of Windmill Lane. From here you will be able to see the black railed gates for the Windmill Lane Apartments. You have now arrived!

Before buying your Airlink 747 bus ticket you should consider buying the Dublin Sightseeing ticket. This ticket costs 24 euro and includes:

DUBLINS HIGHLIGHTS

DUBLIN CASTLE
This is a joy for anyone interested in archaeology or history. Dublin Castle was built in the 13th century on top of the foundations of a Viking structure. The castle served as a military fortress, prison, court of law and the core of British administration in Ireland until 1922. It's now used for state functions and government conferences. Guided tours are available. Open Monday to Friday 10am-4.50pm; Saturday, Sunday and holidays 2-4.50pm. Closed during state functions. Admission is €4.50.

TRINITY COLLEGE AND THE BOOK OF KELLS
Founded by Queen Elizabeth I in 1592, Trinity College is the oldest University in Ireland. Bursting with Heritage the 40 acre site retains its historical charm of cobbled squares, gardens, parks and architecture. Trinity College is famed for its treasures including the 9th Century illuminated manuscript, The Book of Kells. The Book is the centrepiece of an exhibition that attracts over five hundred thousand visitors each year, and along with the beautiful Trinity College site, this attraction is definitely worth exploring during your Dublin visit.

Trinity College is an 10 minute walk from Windmill Lane and admissions to the Old Library for the exhibition costs €9 for adults or €18 for a family ticket of 2 adults and 4 children, but bear in mind that children under 12 go free all year round.

KILMAINHAM JAIL/MUSEUM
Until the 1920s, the British incarcerated and, in 1916, after the Easter Rising executed Irish political prisoners at this site. The jail was closed in 1924 and it is now a monument to the Irish struggle for independence. See the audiovisual show and take a guided tour.

GYM

We know some guests like to maintain their gym workouts during a visit. The state of the art Trinity College gym/pool has a walk-in facility for 10 euro. Gym is about 5 minutes walk from the apartment.

We are not resident at the apartment. Guest will have access to all areas of the apartment.

There is a child travel cot on site, if required.

There is an ATM in the Eurospar supermarket next door.

We do not live at the apartment. As a result, it is important that agreed check in and check out times are agreed in advance to avoid confusion.

We will endeavour to accommodate an earlier check in than 3pm, where possible. We will also try to accommodate the drop off of luggage before check in time. However, this is not always an option. If early check in is vital then we recommend booking the night before your arrival. Alternatively, luggage can be left in lockers in the basement of the Busaras Central Bus Station, about 10 mins walk away.

On checking out, keys to be left in Post Box 2 in hallway, all electric radiators to be unplugged, lights turned off and external windows and doors securely locked.

There is currently construction work being carried out on Windmill Lane. However, due to the situation of the apartment there is little our no noise to be heard.

This place is great and so are Dermot and Helen. Really good location, we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The apartment was easy to access and use and was very comfortable to stay in. We'll definitely be looking for this place next time we visit Dublin.

Amazing experience staying here. Description is 100% accurate. Dermot is a great host. We kept our plans in Dublin free and easy(didn't plan much) and He was able to point out a few key places to go and also a few restaurant recommendations. Even gave us a ride to store our luggage as our flights is in the evening. Will highly recommend staying here.

The apartment is located near the DART station, Tinity College and the Quay. It's also near stops for airport shutters and local bus traffic. The apartment is clean, comfortable and the owners very helpful.

Perfectly situated for The Point (3 Arena) and the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre among other great places. A very quick walk into Dublin Centre and off street secure parking. Dermot & Helen kept in touch from booking to check in. Dermot met us and was jovial despite us being stuck in traffic! Both willing to see us at a later or earlier check in as needed. The flat was quiet, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. A delight in a very busy area of Dublin!
