This Bishop Arts gem is walking distance to vibrant shops and trendy restaurants! True to the character of the neighborhood, this 1940s bungalow has been completely redone with modern amenities while maintaining its original charm. The house is very spacious and comfortably sleeps 16. There’s plenty of fun to be had with a pool/ping pong table, cornhole, hammock, fire pit and plenty of room for entertaining. A quick Uber to Dallas hot spots. Perfect for families, couples, bachelorettes!

The space
The house has a very fun and colorful vibe! There’s a full sized kitchen equipped with everything you could need for cooking and entertaining. There are 5 bedrooms: two bedrooms each have a king bed, one bedroom has 2 queen beds, one bedroom has one queen bed, and a game room with a queen sized sleeper sofa and pool/ping pong table. There is also 1 queen sized air mattress and 1 full sized air mattress and the living room sofa can be made into a bed as well. 3 full sized bathrooms, 2 downstairs and 1 upstairs. The backyard is huge and great for entertaining! Play a round of cornhole while you bbq, or make s’mores over the fire pit on a cold night. There is also an elliptical machine and some weights if you feel like getting a workout in. Enjoy streaming Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and Amazon Prime. Laundry room with washer/dryer. Great for long stays or a quick weekend getaway!

It’s important to note that the house is located in an urban, eclectic neighborhood called the Bishop Arts District. If you are looking for cookie cutter suburbia, this is not your place. There is a lot of redevelopment going on in this area, so you will find a little bit of everything, but that’s what most people love about it! My surrounding neighbors are all very nice families. The house is near multiple schools so there are lots of children in the area. Walking distance (roughly .5 miles) to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, cute shops, art galleries, and murals. There is also a CVS right down the street for all of your essentials. The beautiful Lake Cliff Park is only .5 miles walking and has a great view of Downtown Dallas. Or catch a movie at the authentic Texas Theatre, one of the first cinemas ever in Dallas, only .7 miles walking.

A quick 5-10 minute Uber/Lyft to all the Dallas hot spots like Deep Ellum, Downtown, Uptown, Knox-Henderson, Trinity Groves and the Design District. Catch a Mavericks or Stars game at the American Airlines Center just minutes away. Or a quick 15-20 minute Uber/Lyft to a Cowboys or Rangers game in Arlington. The Bishop Arts District is wonderfully convenient to most Dallas attractions.

While I'm originally from Austin TX, I have lived in Dallas for about 10 years now and consider it home. I bought the house that I manage in February of 2019 because I loved the character and charm of it, especially having the Bishop Arts area just down the street. And the fact that the house has so much space to spread out, yet it's so close to the city! I also knew that the neighborhood was going through a redevelopment, so I had obvious hopes of it being a good investment long-term. The house was built in 1945 but has undergone a full renovation. I spent the first 6 months of owning it, making upgrades and design decisions with the intention of listing it on Airbnb. In August 2019 I was able to do so and haven't looked back since! My next goal is to convert the 800 sq ft. detached shed into a garage/apartment. For my full-time job I work in Human Resources for a global energy management company. I love to travel and explore the world! In the house, there are various canvas prints of my travel to different countries. I also enjoy live music, sand volleyball, and photography. I'm not married, no kids, but I have a wonderful boyfriend, Ryan, who helps me manage the Airbnb.
