For guests thinking about Notting HIll in late August, the annual Notting HIll Carnival is an exciting and extremely busy cultural festival. Although right in the centre of the Festival, the bight, sunny apartment is a quiet oasis

The Neighbourhood
There are myriad great restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars - from casual and fun to the Michelin starred Ledbury Restaurant. I'll provide a list of the best 'locals' including (perhaps especially) coffee.

Shopping includes lots of great fashion, markets, music and bookshops (the Travel Bookshop from the film 'Notting Hill' is literally down the street). The antique, food and clothes market of Portobello (Fridays and Saturdays) lead you to the cosmopolitan strip along Golborne Road, full of Portuguese and Moroccan food and quirky vintage furniture finds.

The newly re-opened and beautified Kensington Palace and surrounding Kensington Palace Gardens and Hyde Park is just a 20-minute walk. It's one of my favourite places in London.

The flat is great for children and Powis Square has a basketball ring and playground.

Getting around
You can reach Marble Arch, the West End and Oxford St in 10-12 minutes from Notting Hill Gate Underground Station (15 mins walk) and Kings Cross, Euston and the East End is in easy reach from Westbourne Park tube station which is less than a 10 minute walk.

Two red double decker London bus routes which are just a few minutes away take you directly to Oxford Street.

City's bicycle hire scheme which is great for getting around the city - for work or to see London's sights. Riding through Hyde Park is wonderful; whatever the weather. The closest bike docking station is 50m from the front door.

Was a very good experience, and I happily add my very positive review to the long list of happy reviewers. Warren is a great host, he was very flexible with us on the time of arrival since we didn't know when we arrive till the last minute. He welcomed us very nicely and in a most generous way. The flat is in a great location, close to the wonderful Portobello market.

Warren's place is fantastic! He was there to greet us when we arrived late in the evening and provided some provisions for breakfast the next day, which we welcomed. The flat was clean and quite spacious. There are three of us and it easily could have slept five. It's between two tube stations but Westbourne Grove is slightly closer than Notting Hill Gate. The area is quiet but only a few streets away from the bustling Portobello rd. I would definitely stay here again.

Listing is as described. Clean apartment. Good water pressure. Responsive to questions before booking and during our stay. Notting Hill is a nice and safe area but a bit far from London's main attractions; thankfully, London's public transportation system is superb. Grateful for the concessions provided (coffee and bread while getting ready in the morning are heaven sent). Definitely needs plug-in (electric) fans for London's hot and humid summer weather. Maybe better suited for 2 people (or 3) as 4 people, each with his own carry-on luggage, make it a little cramped. Overall, a good stay.

This ground floor, cozy apartment is situated in a funky neighbourhood 4 blocks off the famous Portobello Road, where you can find anything from antiques, and shoes, to funky restaurants, cafes, and great gelato. We liked the apartment because it is comfortable, well-equipped (not luxurious), and situated in an authentic multi-cultural neighbourhood. The street itself is quiet during the week and lively on weekend nights. There are 2 underground (subway) stations within a 10-15 minute walk and numerous bus lines nearby. Warren is a very nice and considerate guy - and was totally OK with us checking in earlier so that we can make it to a scheduled tour of the Houses of Parliament on the day of our arrival. Warren was also most responsive to other messages and queries. We had a great week.

Great location, nice safe neighborhood, lots of pubs and restaurants and the Portobello Market with its wonderful fresh fruit and veggies, and on Saturdays its huge with lots of fun stuff. Also just a short walk to Notting Hill Tube station. Warren has thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Nice big living room and well equipped kitchen. Warren even left us a nice bottle of wine, coffee pods, yogurt, etc. so kind and thoughtful. We would love to stay here again next time we're in London
