Enjoy the charms and character of Savannah's Historic district while returning to the comforts of a modern home furnished and decorated with antiques. Located in a new neighborhood near the intersection of I-95 and I-16, just 15 miles from downtown.

The space

Whether you are coming for the Savannah Music Festival in Spring, or the SCAD Film Festival in Fall, or simply want a getaway any time of the year, you'll have a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

This is also a convenient location if you are traveling on I-95 and want an easy on-off stopover in the Savannah area!

This room features a vintage full-bed (not queen) 1000 ct. cotton sheets or silky soft bamboo sheets, comforter, and extra blankets.

This room has a shared bath with other guest rooms. Bath linens and toiletries are provided.

Maps of historic district and tour guidebooks are available for your use. Enjoy coffee or tea in the morning.

Winter evenings will have you warming up to the glow of a fire in the wood-burning fireplace of the family room.

This is a pet-free home. As much as I enjoy dogs myself, I must politely decline hosting guests with pets in order to keep my home comfortable for those with pet allergies.

Located in a new neighborhood near the intersection of I-95 and I-16 in the neighboring community of Pooler, GA the home backs up to a quiet wooded area. You're just 15 minutes straight down I-16 to Savannah's National Historic Landmark district. Stroll the squares, visit Forsyth Park, enjoy the architecture, food, and history of Savannah.

Your host is a professional chef and director of a personal enrichment cooking school in Savannah's historic district. If you enjoy great food you might consider registering for a hands-on cooking class where you can enjoy everything from learning the background influences of Low Country Cuisine to seasonal brunches, techniques for baking, and many other tasty topics! Cooking classes are available. Please inquire if you are interested. It is not necessary to stay with me in order to participate in a hands-on class.

Guest access

Guests have access to all public areas of the home. A television is located in the family room, the kitchen is available for storing refrigerated items and light meals. I do periodically conduct cooking classes in my kitchen so there may be times that the kitchen and dining room are unavailable. Laundry facilities are also available for use if you need to wash clothing.

Interaction with guests

I enjoy making recommendations and suggestions for things to do and ways to make the most of your time in Savannah. The level of interaction depends on your preference and my schedule.

Darin was an excellent host and very knowledgeable about our favourite subjects of food and history. His house is incredibly tastefully decorated, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Although the room itself is small, guests can use the large and airy living room to sit and read in perfect tranquillity. Although the house is a 10-15 minute drive from the Savannah Historic District, it was actually preferable for us to be in a quiet area, surrounded by green space. Incredible value for money, I cannot recommend highly enough!

Darin has a lovely and clean house, unfortunately we were unable to meet him but he left lots of information about the area and instructions for the house were easy to follow. Would highly recommend him and his place. also within great driving distance of the city. Didn't have any problems.

Darin was a great host - welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed sampling some of his baking at breakfast. His home is very comfortable and relaxing after a day spent sightseeing downtown. We'd thoroughly recommend staying with Darin.

Darin's place is an easy recommendation. The bed was very comfortable, the house clean and the neighborhood quiet. Darin was pleasant, helpful and easy to communicate with.

Very nice neighborhood. The location was great and you are not far from downtown Savanah, very easy to get around. Definitely, recommend.

The house is very beautiful, nice and clean. The bed was firm in a good way - very comfortable and slept well. We mostly slept there and stayed gone otherwise. We never met Darin, which we understood was a possibility. In fact, we only met the other guests in passing. That is one thing I did not quite get - there are three rooms (maybe four) being rented here, so you aren't just staying with Darin. That was fine. Everyone was nice and neat. It was an excellent first AirBnB experience. I would say the room is as pictured but it's hard to appreciate that it's quite a small room. It's in a very modern, nice house in a new suburb, and in general, those bedrooms tend to be smaller.

This is a great location and just a quick 15 minute drive to the historic district. The house is in a nice quiet neighborhood. Next time we go back to Savannah I'm definitely checking to see if this location is available. Although we didn't meet our host he sent details and we felt right at home.

I'm a professional chef who enjoys traveling to unique places and connecting with local people to make new friends and have new experiences. Of course I enjoy cooking and travel, but also dining out, antiques, history, and gardening. Independent restaurants and shops are always the most fun. I'm happy to make my own personal recommendations for guests staying with me.
