Great location

Guests who stayed here in the past year loved the location.
East Shallowford Farm is a traditional working hill farm, nestled in the wide West Webburn valley with sheep, cows, pigs, ducks and chickens. As part of your stay you are welcome to join in the daily farm tasks, feeding the pigs and poultry at 8.00am.

With a huge roaring fireplace, a quirky granite staircase leading to four bedrooms with modernised bathrooms, bunk-beds, but most importantly, a home from home and a very warm welcome.

The space
The Farm house itself forms part of a Grade II listed curtilage in which the newly completed Barn Conversion is now also available for visitors. All visitors can enjoy the comfort of their own space, but just be aware that some outdoor spaces may be shared - especially for those wonderful summer evening BBQs, which can of course be lifted up and moved! History will form the walls of your dreams whilst Dartmoor is on your doorstep.

Guest access
If booking ten people or more, we will give you exclusive use of the right wing of the farm house. We live at the farm, with one end of the building for sole use of guests which includes, a kitchen, dining room and sitting room. The Aga kitchen does however, back on to our kitchen, so do be aware that you might hear us through the white ancient latched door. We will, of course try to be as quiet as possible!

There is also a boot room and downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are two bathrooms and four bedrooms, all with solid wooden bunk beds (one single bed only). Being a commercial farm with specific outdoor facilities for large groups, we invite you to help with the animals (pigs and poultry) in the morning and afternoon.

Other things to note
As there are two buildings listed separately with AirBnB and only one car parking area, we ask you kindly to park with respect for the farm team and any other visitors. We request you to park in the official car park and not in the farm yard (through the second gate).

Unfortunately we no longer have an array of wine glasses as so many were broken. Feel happy however, to bring your own. We do have ordinary glass tumblers.

We also ask visitors to bring towels if possible, as we struggle to dry them in limited space. Being Dartmoor, the rain loves to surprise us, so bed-linen (which we provide) gains the priority for drying space over towels.
