About this listing
Small private bedroom in apartment in beautiful Uptown New Orleans. Very close to shopping, dining, and bar options. Steps from the bus line and an easy walk to the St. Charles streetcar.
The space is a small private bedroom in a larger apartment in an old house on the traditional Uptown parade route. There is a porch, an office, living room, kitchen, two private bedrooms and shared bath. Hardwood floors throughout.
This is not a shotgun house in the sense that there is a hallway and while they are in the same vicinity, the bedrooms are enclosed and private.
Your cozy room has a queen bed, A/C unit, 32" smart tv (streaming only) with bluetooth soundbar, ceiling fan, floor lamp, shelves, clock radio, a few books about the neighborhood, a side chair, and mini-fridge. Closet space is limited.
The whole house more or less. Your guest room, the shared bath, kitchen, living room, and porch. I have my own bedroom and separate office that are not shown.
Interaction with guests
I really enjoy meeting and visiting with my guests although most people who stay here spend much of their time out and about, enjoying all that New Orleans has to offer. It's a fantastic place to recover from your last adventure and prepare for the next. If you are looking for privacy in common areas, you may want to narrow your search to 'entire place'.
This part of Uptown enjoys an abundance of businesses within walking distance. Many great places to eat, drink, and shop just steps away. Walking distance to good neighborhood bars - casual and unique dining options. Convenient to Audubon Park, Audubon Zoo, Tulane, Loyola, Touro, and Ochsner.
Plenty to do and see right here in the neighborhood by foot or bike.
The #11 bus on Magazine is steps away and and goes directly to the French Quarter. The St. Charles streetcar line is just a short walk away and also goes to the French Quarter. Each cost $1.25, take about 30 minutes, and are very pleasant rides with lots to see.
Other things to note
This is a drafty, somewhat shabby old New Orleans home with all the quirks. The bathroom sink knobs turn backwards and you have to stand on one foot to unlock the front door.
I want you to have a great time here in New Orleans and in my home which while quite tidy, has a casual and Bohemian vibe. This is a quiet neighborhood and a nice relaxing place to wake up and prepare for the day or to come back to after having a raucous time out on the town. Please be respectful of the property and our neighbors. No smoking inside of the home. No pets. Please make yourself comfortable, celebrate, and be friendly.

I work in the live music business for a good part of the year and sometimes I'll jump out into campaign politics for a few months.
In my downtime you can find me casually riding my bike, cooking with friends, enjoying table tennis, or socializing at a divey bar.
