The Pigsty is Winchester's first luxury woodland hideaway, with beautiful views of Vale Farm. Less than 2.5 miles from the historic centre of Winchester, this peaceful retreat is perfect for those looking to visit the city, or escape for some peace.

The Pigsty’s domed design with wooden interior has a roll top bath, cosy open plan living space and decking area to enjoy dinner with sunset views.

Just a few minutes walk from the famous Clarendon Way, and a 30 minute walk to the city centre.

The space
The Pigsty is situated on a working farm, however in a secluded corner with minimal disturbance. Access is via a well maintained private farm track suitable for vehicles, bikes or by foot!

The Pigsty offers a king-sized bed, simple kitchen, TV, along with a luxurious roll top bath and separate shower and toilet. Towels, sheets, bath robes and special toiletries are provided. There is a gas BBQ for guests to use, along with other surprise perks. Adjacent parking available.


Breakfast is provided for the first morning of your stay, however tea and coffee are available throughout your stay.

Other things to note
The Pigsty is designed for those looking to escape the ways of normal life, this is why we do not allow children or pets of any size.
There are a number of factors as to why but mostly because as parents we felt it was somewhere to enjoy a couple of nights off from the home life.

Local to The Pigsty we are lucky to have a lovely farm shop and tea rooms within walking distance, open Friday to Sunday.

Winchester which is steeped in history having once been the ancient capital of England with its beautiful cathedral and cobbled streets. Known by everyone as Min, I'm the owner and manager of The Pigsty. Along with my husband, Sam Burge, who is the farmer at Vale Farm in Winchester where The Pigsty is situated, and our two young children, Harriet and Hebe, we look after The Pigsty day-to-day. I love to meet and welcome new guests to our beautiful farm and work to make every stay at our cosy little woodland retreat, a memorable one.
