Minutes from the ghost town of Jerome, a half hour from the vortexes of Sedona, & an hour from Flagstaff, this original company town home features a rose & grape garden, impressive mountain views & old world charm.
Our home is one of the first built in the first master-planned community in the US, a company town built by William Clark to house his white collar workers from the nearby mining operation of Jerome (whose copper veins were extracted for American industry from the 1860s to the 1950s). A classic bungalow, it sits in a quiet neighborhood just a walk away from the historic town park, nature trails, and public transit to nearby Cottonwood & Sedona.
We have three free-range chickens who roam the yard daily and provide at least an omelette a day. We have also installed a greywater system to augment the dry high desert conditions of our front yard, and so have a strict organic soap & detergent policy (we ask that you only use our plant-based soaps).
Our home could be considered shabby-chic, in that we've retained many of the original elements of the house — hard wood floors, claw foot tub, cast-iron sink, and dripping glass double-hung windows — yet embellished with our own colorful sense of decor & art.
Guests have access to the entire house — kitchen, bathroom, living room, dining room, two bedrooms, a back room & laundry — as well as the front & backyard.
