About this listing
Wouldn't you rather be home than in a hotel? Especially one like Audubon Landing that is perfectly located! Hoof it to parks, the zoo, food shopping, restaurants. Or make the short couple mile drive to Bardstown Road which offers an incredible array of restaurants and shops concentrated in the Highlands area.
Audubon Landing would have been a starter home in the mid 1950's for a member of the "Greatest Generation". The home has been kept up beautifully and is now furnished with vintage pieces or pieces of the style of that era (electronics excepted). Solid wood furniture in cherry, mahogany, maple and walnut. Persian rugs on the floor. Tile bathroom. One Tempurpedic mattress and one pillowtop plush conventional spring mattress. The home sports four TV's that channel Dish Network's Top 200 and HBO.
It's hard to beat convenience. Groceries, pharmacy, and two large parks are within walking distance. The Highlands strip is a three mile drive, as is the airport.
Interaction with guests
Hal and Meg are absentee owners. They communicate by text, email or phone to cover any questions or requests.
Other things to note
Dogs are considered at Audubon Landing, but must be cleared with Hal or Meg. There are some strict pet rules, but nothing insurmountable. We have dogs ourselves. There is a one-time Pet Fee of $30 for approved pets that is charged separately.
We have a Security/Damage Deposit agreement that all guests will receive. At the top of the list is NO SMOKING! Audubon Landing is our home for three months of the year. Guests in our home are expected to act as such with respect for our property and our neighbors.
