Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
Our secluded log cabin has breathtaking views, yet is two miles from Whitby. It is full of atmosphere but equipped for comfort and convenience

Our site is a wildlife haven and we do everything we can to provide a safe environment for our birdlife in particular. For this reason we no longer advertise as dog friendly.

With one bedroom and a luxurious bathroom Valley View cabin is a romantic haven for couples.

The space
Valley View log cabin has an unrivalled situation with a totally private outlook. From the spacious terrace there is an unbroken view of the stream and valley beyond.

We have recently refurbished this cabin to offer luxury accommodation for couples. There is just one bedroom and a luxury bathroom.

Although Valley is traditionally styled with a log burner (logs supplied), there is also central heating for total comfort . A newly fitted, good sized kitchenette has gas rings, a microwave and grill and a fridge freezer. There is a breakfast bar and a spacious seating/ relaxation area with TV and DVD player.

As well as the large terrace outside there is a covered area with fairy lights and benches.

All bedding and towels are provided.

There is genersous parking for one car about 50 metres away (up a hill).

Where you’ll be

Whitby, United Kingdom

We are at the end of a single track no through road with a variety of walks from the doorstep. You can walk across woods or fields to a number of country pubs or to the cliffs and beaches at Whitby or Robin Hoods Bay. For all year round walking and cycling, the Cinder track, which runs from Whitby to Scarborough and is five minutes walk away. You can even walk cross country to the supermarket.

Many of our guests don't use a car during their stay with us.

Whitby is a bustling seaside town with a great variety of bars and restaurants and interesting shops. It's Abbey ruins are famous for the Dracula associations and two museums record the town's maritime history including the Captain Cook connection.

Near

If you do choose to drive, the iconic villages of Goatland and Grosmont, home to Heartbeat and Harry Potter's Station 13 1/4 are a short drive away and there is great walking there too. Falling Foss waterfall is another beauty spot and there are all weather walks in Danby Forest.

The North York Moors steam train from Whitby is a great way to visit the local villages.

I am a yoga teacher, author and wellness coach. I am passionate about health and energy, real food, animals, and outdoor life. My partner Mark, a mountain leader, and, I live at Valley View on the site of our secluded log cabins and garden room vegetarian B and B. We meet and welcome all guests to our cabins but then leave you to enjoy the seclusion of the woodland. But we are on hand if you need advice on walks in the area. Or if you would like a private yoga session, a wellness consultation or a guided walk then we can add these to your stay

During your stay

We welcome guests and show you round then leave you to enjoy your stay unless you need us.

There is an information booklet in the cabin with suggestions for walks and place to eat out as well as some instructions as to how things work.

We have a yoga studio on site and guests can join studio classes when there is space and we can offer private lessons, including aerial. Also wellness consultations.

We have a small menagerie with chickens, ducks, rabbits and ponies as well as our own dog and two cats. These are unlikely to pay you visits although a couple of the chickens are very free range. We sometimes have eggs for sale though many of our animals are retired!
