The space

This apartment is your home away from home!! Full of amenities this cozy apartment located a few minutes from the city and nearby trains and busses it's the perfect place to stay when visiting NYC. This private bedroom is located on a first floor apartment giving you a quiet and tranquil environment which you will enjoy after a long day of sightseeing or exploring the streets of New York.

The bedroom is private and the bathroom will be share with me an another airbnb guest I might have in the other room, the bedroom has a queen size bed, a chair, nightstand, a lamp and a closet with hangers, a clean set of sheets, blanket and a towel per person are provided with the room, there's a radiator in the room to keep the room warm and cozy during the winter, I have no control over the amount of heat provided since I rent I don't own the place but if it gets too hot, the room has a fan to keep some equilibrium on the temperature, the window is also operable without any keys so guests can open it to let some air come in the room, the other room I rent with airbnb is right next to this room and my room is at the other end of the apt right by the living room as you can see on the pictures, the bathroom is closer to the rooms I rent, right next to them. I also have 2 cameras monitoring the apt to keep everyone safe (not that I ever need them but I figured is better to be safe than sorry).

Astoria is an amazing neighborhood that is extremely close to NYC. Full of delicious and trendy restaurants (Greek, Japanese, Italian, etc.) as well as exciting bars and cafes. Your stay in this neighborhood will be a pleasant one. Supermarkets are all walking distance as well as pharmacies. Pretty much anything you need can be found in this area. Some attractions in Astoria that you can enjoy is the Moma PS 1 museum, Astoria Park, Kaufman Studios.

The subway is 5 blocks away and it's the last stop so there is always a seat available and a pleasant commute. LaGuardia airport is 10 minutes away approximately $10.00 in a NYC cab. JFK is about 20 minutes away. Newark airport is a bit further but there are connections with trains and buses.

Guest access

The bedroom is private, the bathroom will be share with me and with another airbnb guest(s) I might have in the other room, kitchen is available upon request.

Interaction with guests

I live in the same apt so I'm always available to answer their questions and when I'm at work, I'm available by phone call or text message.

Other things to note

The apt has 3 bedrooms, I rent 2 of them with airbnb and the 3rd room is mine, I live in the same apt so I'm always available for answering questions, and when I'm at work I'm always available via phone call or text message. Since I don't have a cleaning fee, in order to remind affordable for everyone, I expect guests to keep the apt clean by cleaning after themselves (not after anyone else but after themselves) if something was clean before they used it, i expect them to leave it the same way after they used it.

It was everything I expected. Comfortable, clean. Neighborhood has many late night options, which was good. Angelo left some snacks on the table within the room, which was really thoughtful. Walk from Ditmars is about seven minutes (as advertised).

Very affordable place in NY, it is very well communicated (Metro station is 5 minutes walking and close to many kinds of shops. Basic furniture but you got what you pay! I would say a very good place to crash for a couple of days but not for families as you would need more space. Thank you Angelo!

Make sure you do not lose your key!!! It's a $5 replacement charge if you do lose it, and it can be quite an inconvenience if you lose it at night, as the host and his mother can be sound asleep, resulting in you not being able to access your room until the next morning.

This was my first time booking with Airbnb . I was a bit nervous staying with a stranger but as soon as I met Angelo I felt at ease . He was very nice and took my reservation even though I booked it late . The room was very clean and he even provided snacks ! Overall great experience :)

Although I ultimately just used Angelo's place to sleep as I was out by 7:30 am and home at midnight), I still enjoyed my stay. The room is spacious, clean and bright. The bed is comfy. Full access to kitchen and bathroom. He has roommates but you can still have a quiet experience. The place is a 10 minute walk from the closest subway station, which is not too bad. It is the last stop on the N/W line, which can get you almost anywhere. Neighborhood was quiet and diverse, with lots of nearby coffee shops/restaurants. Angelo was also super accommodating with my check-in/check-out time and checked with me to see if I was settled in fine. Overall, great value for the price and would definitely stay here again!
