This part of the Mill is only bookable with the main holiday let Old Smock Mill which has it's own website on Airbnb
The atmosphere inside is peaceful and relaxing designed to unwind you from the moment you walk in. Surrounded by the lovely Kent countryside where you can ramble and refresh yourselves by perhaps ending the day in one of the great pubs, a cosy fire in Winter or in Summer in an English garden. Guests have said how hard it is to tear themselves away, it truly is a treasure to find.

The space
This space can only be booked with the upper Old Smock Mill holiday let as an addition. This is because the two holiday let spaces are in connected.

The Old Smock Mill is a gorgeous four storey building it has carefully been restored to a very high level. With eighteen inch brick walls and white weather boarded tower it stands out on the landscape. This site is for the ground floor of the Mill and attached garden room which can only be booked with the upper holiday let (Old Smock Mill). This accommodates 4 adults in total perhaps with relatives or friends wishing to come together instead of just a couple.
As you come in through the large oak stable door you are immediately in the Mill. Huge beams span the high ceilings there's a calm atmosphere and great trouble has been taken to work with the building using beautiful fabrics and furniture. The bedroom is linked to the old mill through a contemporary glass link. This is filled with flowers and scented plants a garden within the building. The large folding doors can be folded back so the garden feels part of the space. On entering the bedroom there's a sense of light and calm. Original works of art and beautiful fabrics set the scene. The bathroom has a wet room shower and original hand painted mural of the Mill and surrounding countryside. You can access the garden from the glass link or through the french doors from the bedroom. Supper can be taken on the elm table under the orbs of fairy lights. From the kitchen you can access the upper mill floors using the oak stairs that winds up to the hatches. These are opened from above using the pulley systems. The two couples can use their own spaces for cooking and living or together they can sit out on the staging which runs around the Mill on the first floor. Upstairs massive beams span each floor carrying the original upright shaft giant spur wheel and sack hoist. It is a very unusual romantic and memorable place to stay. Each room has been carefully designed to be in keeping but comfort and modern facilities are well catered for.
A welcome basket including the owners chickens organic eggs will be given on arrival.

Where you’ll be

Benenden, England, United Kingdom

There are many things to do in this area. Apart from world famous gardens to visit, there are boats at the Lime wharf cafe to hire and take down the river. You can also wild swim there if the weather is tempting. Camber sands is a drive away but what a beach, white sands stretch out from heritage dunes. A picnic is a must and an evening stroll at sunset is fun. We are lucky as well with the amount of good food places around here so eating out is easy. Bikes can be hired for mountain biking on specially designed tracks through Bedgebury forest.

Hello I enjoy painting in oils, gardening and seeing gardens, cooking and having great meals with the family. We love to holiday in the West country by the sea. With the Windmill I have worked to create an interesting space for people to share and enjoy. The Windmill is set in our garden and we are delighted to meet the guests who will be staying although you are left to be as private as you wish. We have Ash our golden labrador and Maisie the kitten who is very much the boss. Freshly laid eggs from our organic chickens are given as part of your welcome basket. We look forward to meeting you in our relaxing surroundings.
