We are happy to share with you our unique cave home located in the heart of Anaga Rural Park, awarded in 2015 as UNESCO Biosfere Reserve. The settlement is divided in 4 caves that serve as 3 double bedrooms and a living room with sofa bed wich allows 8 people sleeping in total. Kitchen is fully equipped and you can also enjoy the BBQ and terrace with amazing views. The infrared sauna is absolutely great after a day spent in nature since we are in the heart of well knowed hiking trails.
The space
It was during an inspiring hike from Cruz del Carmen towards Punta del Hidalgo when we discovered delightful El Batan, a quiet village that won our hearts instantly. So, when we found out that, right next to the hiking trail, there was a property for sale, we knew it would be ours.
The friendly 93-year old Señor Isidro, who perfectly carved the charming caves with his own hands, happily sold us what used to be his place of wine production and storage. The proof of our house's past comes as a restored antique wine press handmade by the previous owner, which is now welcoming you right at the front gate.
We renovated the house and arranged its incredible gardens with great love, without stealing its natural charm away, and we are now happily sharing it with nature lovers from all over the world. Beautifully decorated and fully equipped, our warm house offers you the comfort you deserve, paired with the breathtaking views you will love.
You have 3 cozy double bedrooms with heating and humidity control system, and one beautiful living room that welcomes you with a small, but cool wine cellar, as well as a comfortable sofa bed and a TV. Also, you can enjoy preparing a tasty meal in the fully equipped kitchen with mesmerizing views, and you have 2 bathrooms with hot water and heating.
To take advantage of the gorgeous landscapes and fresh air, we created a lovely BBQ area, and for the sunniest days, the top terrace solarium is waiting for you with comfy sunbeams and an outdoor shower. And, of course, for a well-deserved pampering, enjoy the relaxing infrared sauna.
The toiletry, bed linings, personal and beach towels, as well as bathrobes, are included, and we also welcome you with complimentary water, coffee, and tea, as well as main spices, olive oil and vinegar. You are also very welcome to indulge in our wine selection, displayed in the living room, with the option of paying at the property. The wine menu is rich and specially created for our guests.
Guest access
Besides the beautifully designed house and its relaxing areas, the property is also blessed with surrounding gardens filled with fig-trees, avocado, oranges, potatoes, and other gorgeous plants, depending on the season.
There is also a relaxing picnic area next to the property, called La Fuente, meaning The Source, where hikers stop to rest, admire the views, and enjoy the water spring that offers freshwater all year round.
The access to the place, from the parking, is on foot and you need to climb around 50 stairs. We, together with the people who already stayed at our cave home, assure you the effort is worth it. Once you decide you want to spend your holiday in our piece of heaven, we will send you all the necessary directions to easily reach the delightful cave home.
Other things to note
The walk is very relaxing, but it can be a bit tiring with big items of luggage. We suggest a backpack instead of trolley luggage bags, but in any case, once you reach the destination, the effort will be instantly forgotten, leaving room for the pure joy given by the home-like space and the mesmerizing views.
