Stunning 18th Century Luxury Tower Apartment a stones throw from the Castle. Overlooking the Royal Mile with stunning St Giles Cathedral from the front, and a historic square housing the breathtaking Writers Museum built in 1622 from the back.

The space

A stunning, luxury first floor 18th century apartment overlooking the Royal Mile, St Giles Cathedral and less than 50m from the Castle esplanade. Ladystairs Tower Apartment has breathtaking views of historic architecture dating back to the 16th century and sea views to boot. Tucked away up a ancient close where Robert Burns once lived and Sir Walter Scott was inspired to write his novel 'The Mirror.' An inspiring, breathtaking, comfortable base in the heart of old Edinburgh.

Interaction with guests

I will give you complete privacy to enjoy the apartment but am always available on Airbnb, so feel free to message me if you have any questions or need recommendations of things to do while in Edinburgh.

Other things to note

Please note there is a charge of £10 for the use of the second bed to cover laundry fees, please mention at booking enquiry stage if you are travelling 2 people requiring both beds, Thanks! There are many tours go from right outside - ghosts tours of old Edinburgh, under the city tours - did you know Edinburgh is built on top of another old city, parts of which you can still explore deep underground? City Tour buses leave from outside and The Writers Tour leaves from Ladystairs Close showcasing the history and inspiration of Edinburgh's many famous writers including JK Rowling, Ian Banks, Irvine Welsh, Robert Burns to name but a few! I use BnB Buddy services, who offer a 24 hour response/help.

I am currently only excepting 1 night bookings for certain times of the year.

Very nice cosy apartment 200m from the castle. It in the perfect location to explore the city. The sightseeing bus stops right outside the apartment. It is modern and very clean. You basically look over lawnmarket street. This apartment is perfect for a couple and I would definitely recommend it However I would think twice if you booking it for more than two people as the sleeper couch is very comfortable and if you a very light sleeper the road noise will keep you awake.

Lovely apartment, well decorated and maintained. Just perfect for 2 or 4 (sofa bed which we didn't use). Front facing onto the bustling royal mile. Bedroom overlooking the quiet courtyard at the back of the building, so no problems sleeping. Location great for exploring Edinburgh on foot - everything in walking distance. A great apartment in a great location. Highly recommend.

This charming, gorgeous apartment is in the most happening spot in Edinburgh. You are a short walk to Holyrood Palace, Canon Gate Kirk, St. Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat. Prince Charles was spotted across the street! It was less than a five minute walk from Grassmarket Street, shops and eateries all along way. The beauty of the area is astounding! This apartment is ideal for a couple or a single traveler such as myself. Emma was very accommodating and also reached out to offer suggestions for things to do in the area. The price is incredibly reasonable as well. I loved it! Krista Baker

Thank so much, we really enjoyed our stay! The location was amazing! You were very accommodating and professional. My husband has never used Air B and B before and was very reluctant. After staying at your place, he felt very comfortable and confident with using this. We would definitely stay again!

Born and bred in Edinburgh I am a Fashion Stylist, Personal Shopper, Wife and Mum. I love to travel in search of new adventures, to meet new people, to browse markets hunting for treasure, to eat tasty food and drink fine wine, to read in hammocks, to float in the sea (preferably not the Scottish sea!) to ramble round old streets, and to blow in the wind (handy in Edinburgh!)
