Traditional Dales town house just 5 minutes walk from Skipton town centre. Versatile accommodation on 3 floors with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Wifi Internet, TV

The space

The top floor has a double and a twin bedroom and a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower cubicle and slipper bathtub. On the ground floor is a good-sized dining kitchen with stone-flagged floor and a sitting room with bay window. The basement has a bedroom with king-sized bed and wetroom. There is a games/utility room with 2 futons, suitable for children. The patio garden is equipped with a barbeque and outdoor furniture; enjoy al fresco dining while watching the cattle and sheep on the adjacent hillside!
Convenient for countryside and town, and with excellent access by road and rail to Leeds, Manchester and Bradford as well as the renowned spa town of Harrogate, it is an ideal base for a holiday for all age groups.
Skipton offers a variety of restaurants and pubs and boasts a well-preserved medieval castle, boating on the canal and good sport and leisure facilities, including a golf course.

Guests have use of the entire house. A small shed provides secure storage for cycles. On-street parking. Six people can be comfortably accommodated; 2 additional guests can use futons but the living quarters will be cosy!

I usually manage to greet guests in person. I live in Harrogate so am on hand if required.

Skipton is a vibrant and friendly community. With a market 4 days each week, a monthly farmers' market, numerous festivals and many cultural events, there is always something going on. On the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this is prime walking, cycling and climbing territory for active guests.

Skipton has a railway station with connections to Leeds, Bradford and Carlisle. There is a bus station with buses to local villages and towns. Canal boats offer short trips or longer rentals. And for a nostalgic day out, try the steam railways at nearby Embsay or Keighley!

The house is really lovely and homely. More than enough room for myself and 4 friends. Jesca was really helpful beforehand. Only a 5 minute walk from the centre of skipton which is well worth a visit. We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our stay in a well equipped and well situated house. It is within a short (but hilly!) walk of lovely shops and cafes and restaurants. Our family enjoyed a visit to the castle, exploring the canal tow paths and a walk in Skipton woods as well as a trip to the Dales National Park. We hardly used our car which was a lovely change. Jesca responded quickly to our queues and clearly communicated with us. We hope that others enjoy their stay as much as we enjoyed ours

Wonderful place to stay very comfortable and spacious .Excellent location to town easy walking distance.Bed in basement very comfortable as was other beds .Only thing I would say is you do need to use the dehumidifier in the basement bedroom as quite a bit of the condensation from shower room .Would certainly stay here again if travelling with family members.

I enjoy walking, especially in the Dales, and dance, music and flowers. My cottage at Airton is an ideal base for exploring the southern Dales and I take advantage of it whenever I can. Just a couple of miles from one of my favourite walks, the scramble up the waterfall at Gordale Scar, and within walking distance of a pub that serves good Yorkshire fare, it has everything I need for a relaxed break.
There is a selection of DVDs, books and games for you to enjoy and loads of information about things to do in the area to enable you to get the most from your visit.
I also have a townhouse in Skipton for those who prefer being based in a bustling market town while still enjoying the tranquility of the Dales on their doorstep.
