The space
**Space Overview**
- **Authentic Heritage Meets Modern Comforts:** Originally a two-story barn, converted by my late husband and friends in the 00s, this cottage retains its original beams and stonework, marrying historic charm with contemporary conveniences. It really is built with love!
- **Spacious Gathering Spaces:** A large farmhouse kitchen complete with an expansive dining table is perfect for communal meals and game nights. The cozy sitting room invites you to relax with its wood-burning stove and snug reading nooks.

WHAT DO OTHER GUESTS ON THE FARM SAY?
"Wonderful peaceful get away. Cottage was wonderful! Doris, her family and neighbours all so friendly and helpful.
Beautiful views and my family had a dip in the stream and lots of lovely walks . So much to like and we will be returning." Michaela
"We had a peaceful and relaxing, away from it all, time staying in the converted hayloft. We were met by Leo and Amy on arrival, who made us very welcome. The accommodation was spacious, clean and quirky and we really liked it. Beds were comfortable and the showers good. Thank you for the scones, jam and cream on arrival. Dog walks from the door too. A lovely place and hosts." Lisa
"This was a great find and good for visiting different places on Exmoor. Doris was very welcoming and made it easy for us to enjoy our stay. It is an oasis of peace and quiet and surrounded by beautiful scenery. " Lesley
"A lovely family break away. The beds were comfy, the cottage is restored to a very high quality, it was clean, warm and equipped with everything.[...] We enjoyed sitting out listening to the sheep, listening to the owls at night and watching the little french partridge on the track outside in the morning." David
"Fabulous location, nicely tucked away in a beautiful location but close enough to Dulverton to walk in.
Had three great meals in three nearby pubs and was struck how dog friendly all the establishments were including where we stayed." Guy
"...We were blessed the last night with a blanket of stars [...] and the last morning was stunning sunshine so we got to see the land in all its glory. It really is a beautiful bit of land, lots of accessible walks and not far to get to the moors. We really hope to visit again!" Amy
"...perfect place to stay if you like hiking, lots of wildlife & birds around, we even had a sparrowhawk perching briefly right outside the window..." Sali
Guest access
Enjoy exclusive access to the entire house, large garden, and vibrant outdoor seating area.
You are also welcome to walk on the footpaths around our land - just ask for directions!
Other things to note
Long lets are considered over the winter.
Anstey Mills Cottage is in a very peaceful rural setting at the end of a single track lane (with passing places!). Please note it can be a bit bumpy. It's fine for an ordinary car (our little Honda Jazz manages it!) if you take it slowly, and it only takes a few mins to drive it.
We also let another small Thatched Cottage at the other end of the Devon Longhouse. You can find it on Airbnb via an internet search for "Cosy Thatched Cottage on Exmoor". People can hire both the cottages together if they are holidaying with a larger group.
We have our own delicious spring water.
Come, breathe in the peace, and let the beauty of Exmoor wrap around you—a great escape awaits. Send us a message with any questions you may have :)
