The picturesque village of Town Yetholm known as The Gateway to The Cheviots is an ideal base to explore the Scottish Borders and Northumberland. Overlooking the Cheviots, Rubislaw's double rooms have a comfy chair, coffee and tea making facilities, hair dryer, flat screen TV, free wifi, with access to gardens with outdoor seating.
We are COVID aware. Should you require 2 rooms, our Garden View room (currently closed to others) can be made available for your single household group on request.

The space
The light and airy Cheviots Room has a comfortable double bed with en-suite facilities and fabulous views to the hills.

Continental breakfast is included, served in our bright family kitchen-dining room. Vegan, Dairy Free, and Gluten Free options are available for special dietary requirements (please inform us in advance).

Additional folding single beds or a baby travel cot are available on request in advance (NB may limit circulation space in your room. Toddler parents please note there is no safety gate on the stairs.)

For the information of guests with ambulatory difficulties - Rubislaw has two steps on entry, and the Cheviot room is upstairs on the first floor.

The utility room has shoe and airing racks for drying wet footwear and clothing. An iron and ironing board are available on request, and guests may have the use of washing and drying machines by arrangement. Guests have access to the garden seating areas - at the front with views to the Cheviots' Staerough Hill, and the rear garden smoking area.

Bicycles can be stored in the garage, and car parking is off road in our private lane.

Please note that guests wishing to bring a dog are welcome in our Garden View room but, to ensurethe comfort of future guests with allergies, dogs are not permitted in the Cheviot View room.

Guest access
Guest access the Cheviot room via the main house hallway and a staircase to their private en-suite room. Guests have access to the ground floor dining- kitchen, and the utility room. The front and back garden seating areas are also available to guests.

Other things to note
COVID 19 - we have increased our cleaning schedules and use of anti-viral sprays. Guests are asked to use the hand cleanser provided on entry.
Note we do have two friendly dogs who do occasionally bark! (Guests with animal hair sensitivity can be reassured that our dogs are a non-casting breed.)

Situated just a mile or so from the northern end of the Pennine Way, we are an ideal base for walkers, cyclists and drivers to explore the Cheviots, St Cuthberts Way, Four Abbeys Cycle Route and the beautiful Borders countryside. The village post-office/shop selling snacks and sandwiches, and local pub serving bar meals, are 2 minutes walk. A second pub which also serves meals, is a 10 minute walk.
