The neighbourhood

Marion is a seaside village with a big yachting history located exit 20 off 195. It's between New Bedford and Cape Cod. (yay..no bridge/canal traffic! ) The house is in the village. Easy walk to shops, harbor and yacht club. Just a couple of blocks with the library, ice cream shop, and the General Store in between. The beach is really pretty fantastic with lifeguards , showers, playground and snack bar. You can walk to it through the village but there is also parking with the visitors pass as is a residence only kinda place. Walk to Tabor and athletic fields. Shops, playgrounds, and beach are all an easy stroll.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend staying with Beth. She was not helpful or kind when problems arose. She had left an unsecured door leaning against the wall in the kids room. When it fell on top of my 3 year old son, hitting his head, she did not express concern or apologize when we told her. Rather, she just thanked us for letting her know. Her house is uncomfortably hot in the summer-- it just has two poorly functioning air conditioners. When the upstairs one was leaking on the carpet, we told her. But again, she thanked us for alerting her but did nothing. So we fixed it with duct tape. Other small things were broken or in poor repair, like the roller shade that fell off the hinges when we pulled it. In short, we left more stressed than when we arrived, after paying $900 for the weekend.

What a disappointing experience of staying in this property for three weeks! Unfriendly property owner, not working security system, insects even on bed sheets, blocked sewage pipe, no window screen in some bedrooms and underperforming air conditioner.

My boyfriend, my parents and myself loved spraying in your home! What a beautiful home and a wonderful location. We came to see my friends concert at Bennet Farms in Rochester, and just really enjoyed this home. We went to Turks, Oxford creamery, Ned's point, the little cafe on front st. (Joes, I think) TWICE, it was a little chilly so we only drove to the beach access and left, there was an art festival we wish we could've gone to, but we had prior engagement.:( my mom and I loved your decorating, and I have a waterspout soap dish, and a monkey fist coming soon. I hope we can come again next year and enjoy your lovely home during our vacation, thanks so much!

We loved this location. It is a beautiful house with a lot of space and a huge garden. The village is very small and peaceful.

Beth was great at communicating with us about arrival details. All went smoothly in that regard, even though we did not meet her. I found the house to be even nicer than in the pictures and very accommodating of the needs of our group who were visiting Marion to attend a family reunion. The town is lovely and the house is well located to take advantage of walking anywhere in the village. The house was very clean, beds comfortable, along with nice linens. We did not cook there, but you could have cooked all meals easily, as the kitchen was well equipped. If we return to Marion again in the future, I would love to stay at this house again! Thanks, Beth!

This is a great home in a charming town. The house is right near a elementary school with a playground and plenty of places for a summer game of wiffle ball. This house is walking distance to the General Store and a bike ride to the beach. Beth left us a welcome note and was a really great host.

I have had the good fortune of travel. I raised my boys in Asia and England. If only Airbnb was a thing then! Would have much rather stayed in a home than hotels when taking trips with children.
Each summer we came home to Marion Village as I grew up on Cape Cod. (Marion was a perfect solution to bridge tragic). This house has been a comfortable place to catch up with family and friends. Something about the layout just makes it easy. Being able to walk through the village and to the beach gave the kids freedom to roam some.

Be well,
Beth
