The space

Superb cottage located on the shores of Lake Mirror at Dudswell located at the foot of the Appalachians.

Included a kitchen, a bathroom, a closed bedroom (double bed) and another bedroom on the mezzanine (open air, one king bed and a double bed). There is also a sofa bed in the living room. A small gas BBQ is also available outside.

It should be noted that on the King bed, which is located at the Mezzanine, there is a beautiful view of the lake.

Mirror Lake is a lake with a length of about 1 mile ideal for kayaking or other boats. This is a great place for fishing and motor boats are allowed.

Guest access

You can use 3 kayaks (two single kayaks and a double kayak).

There is also a bike path built on an old railway track just behind the cottage that leads to Marbleton where there is a golf course (9 holes, 5 minutes drive), a public beach and small artisan businesses sector.

Located nearby hiking trails of the Forest inhabited (about 9 miles of trails). These trails are available in winter on skis or snowshoes.

The location is very pretty. It was great to have access to kayaks. The night skies are wonderful-many stars and the Milky Way are very clear. The open layout with a loft made it a bit difficult for 4 adults with different schedules to not bother each other.

We had the most wonderful stay at Cindy's cottage. The cottage is quaint and lovely, and the area is wonderfully isolated. Being right on the lake was beautiful, and it was incredibly quiet. It was a wonderful surprise to find a kiddie pool in the shed behind the house - our toddler loved playing in it! We loved using the BBQ and fire pit. Cindy was a great host- easy to communicate with and always quick to respond to any questions we had. It should be noted that there is no air conditioning in the cottage, which was okay at night, but got very hot during the day. We loved our time at this cottage and hope to go back again one day soon!

The cottage was great for us. The kayaks were fun and right at the water. The place was sunny and had all amenities including a BBQ (just watch your meal carefully as it cooked unevenly). The down side was that the waterfront was muddy but there was an easy 2 minute kayak to an island with a little sandy shore to swim at. The neighbours on one side are pretty close but quiet and didn't influence our trip. Cindy was helpful in answering our questions and we took her advice and tried the yummy ice cream in Marbleton. We'd recommend the Restaurant La Mara for dinner one night! The public 9-hole golf course was well maintained and the tourist information booth in Marbleton helped us with hiking and biking trail suggestions. There was a nice small town feel in the community. Perfect if your looking for a relaxing vacation with a few more activity options.

Cindy left very clear and easy to follow instructions for how to enter the house and what facilities were at our disposal. The cottage itself is located right on the edge of the lake, and we were able to borrow Cindy's kayaks- we had great fun paddling around in the sun! A lovely garden and plenty of accommodation inside for us (a party of four).

We had a wonderful time at Cindy's cottage. It was just as expected, in a beautiful spot right on the lake. For those thinking of going in winter, it is nice and warm, with a great wood stove and lots of hot water. We were very cozy watching the snow fall over the lake and the many geese who live there. It helped to have snow tires! We would love to return.

Cindy was a gracious host and accommodated us even though we gave our listing request in very short notice. The house and location were exactly as described, spacious house on a remote and beautiful lake. We had a great time!
