About this listing

This annexe is the perfect base for a retreat and have time to explore this beautiful county, or as a temporary base if you're working in the area. Entrance located at the end of the high street, although the annexe is set back from the road so is not impacted by the traffic.

It is convenient for Marlborough, Bath, Salisbury, the K & A Canal, Stonehenge and Avebury; as well as having fast trains to Newbury, Reading and London.

The space

Spacious, self contained and fully furnished 2 bedroom flat with its own entrance.

Bedrooms: 1 Double and 1 Twin (both can be reconfigured if required), all towels and linen provided.

Open plan lounge & dining area with a fully equipped kitchen - oven, microwave, washer/dryer, fridge freezer, cooking utensils and crockery

Breakfast items can be provided for arrival on request.

Guest access

Guests will have sole access to the 2 bed flat, with their own separate entrance.

Interaction with guests

Owner lives next door so is on hand as required.

The neighbourhood

As an area of outstanding beauty, Pewsey Vale and the hills provide many enjoyable walks and bridle paths, and closer to home the Scotchel Nature Reserve and some delightful walks up to the Kennet & Avon Canal and Pewsey Wharf.

Pewsey amenities are all within walking distance, and include a swimming pool and leisure centre (temp closure from Feb 2017), a supermarket, Post Office, bank, cafes, a Heritage Centre, a library, a wool shop, several playgrounds and some excellent public houses.

A perfect base for walking, archaeology, cycling, riding, golf and fishing, Pewsey is also ideally situated for Stonehenge and Avebury Stone Circles (World Heritage sites), Salisbury Cathedral, Old Sarum and the Medieval cities of Salisbury & Wilton, Historic Market towns of Devizes, Marlborough, Highclere Castle, Kennet & Avon Canal and the Caen Hill Locks, Wilton Windmill & Crofton Pumping Station, Longleat House, Adventure Playground and Safari Park, Bath, National Trust village of Lacock, Stourhead.

Getting around

There are excellent transport links with buses north to Marlborough and south to Salisbury.

Trains go to West Country (Bath, Taunton, Exeter) and 60 minutes into Paddington via Newbury and Reading.

Pewsey Train station is a 10 minute walk, and lifts to and from the station can be arranged if required.

Very much enjoyed staying at Ellies Ball House apartment... Exactly as shown in the photos.... Perfect location for exploring around Wiltshire. Excellent hosts, Very friendly and helpfull. Would love to stay here again next time we are in the area. Highly recommended. Thanks Ellie!

We hebben een heerlijk verblijf gehad in het appartement. Lekker licht door alle ramen, prima bedden (4 maal), 2 slaapkamers. Prima living met zit- en eethoek. Uitzicht op tuin en geen last van de hoofdweg. Een echte aanrader dus. Het mooie Engelse landschap licht zo om de hoek. Pewsey is klein, maar heeft een mooie kerk, supermarkt (2x), een Indiaas restaurant en nog wat andere locale horeca gelegenheden. Vriendelijke eigenaars.
