Neighbourhood highlights

Beadnell is a popular holiday destination renowned for its extensive range of quality water sports including kite surfing, wind surfing and scuba diving. There is a rocky outcrop scattered with rock pools just a couple of hundred yards from the cottage which is great for children to explore and which leads on to an expansive sweep of golden sand.
Did you know Beadnell is the only fishing village on the east coast to have a west facing harbour!

Trips to the Farne Islands can be arranged from Seahouses, the next village up the coast. Carrying on north you then arrive at Bamburgh with its imposing castle right on the beach, from which you can clearly see Holy Island and Lindisfarne, just a few miles away.

A short distance inland is the historic market town of Alnwick renowned for its majestic castle, the location of the Harry Potter movies. The Alnwick Gardens are stunning, with a grand water cascade, beautiful walled gardens, a poison garden and of course the famous treehouse.
Horse riding and fishing can be enjoyed locally and the area has several splendid golf courses.

I fell in love with Beadnell over 30 years ago when I spent my 20s enjoying Beadnell and everything it has to offer, before finally building Alexandra Cottage in 2005. In 2008 we bought the old farm steading in the field behind the cottage and converted it into 3 houses, one of which is Nanny End which is available to rent for short breaks and holidays.
