Nestled in a small hamlet of houses along a quiet country lane, The Mews at Higher Meadow House is a calm and peaceful retreat overlooking the River Tame. The Mews is the ground floor apartment of Higher Meadow House, which was newly constructed in 2019. It is a stone’s throw away from the historic heart of Delph village with its shops, cafés, pubs, art galleries and links to other villages of Saddleworth as well as the town of Oldham and Manchester.

The space
A five-minute walk across the river bridge takes you to the centre of Delph village with all the shops and amenities you could need as well as public transport and road links to the other Saddleworth villages of Uppermill, Dobcross and Greenfield.

This stylish and charming ground floor apartment was newly constructed in 2019. It is airy and spacious with two double bedrooms and a large corner sofa that converts into a double bed in the living space. The living space itself features an open plan kitchen/dining/lounge with everything you’ll need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. High-speed WIFI and Sky Q is also available.

* The apartment is perfect for groups of friends, travelling couples and families.
* Both bedrooms feature plenty of storage space and each boasts an ensuite shower room.
* The newly fitted kitchen is fully equipped with full-size cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge freezer as well as a microwave, kettle and toaster.
* A hairdryer, iron and ironing board are also available.
* On arrival, you’ll be greeted with complimentary coffee, tea, sugar and biscuits to get you started.
* All major supermarkets deliver to the property and deliveries can be taken in and put away before your arrival at request.
* Light meals (sandwiches, salads, etc) can be arranged for arrival day for a small charge.

Where you’ll be

Delph, England, United Kingdom

Delph is part of Saddleworth, which is made up of several picturesque villages (including Delph, Denshaw, Dobcross, Diggle, Greenfield and Uppermill) and close to the historic border between Lancashire and Yorkshire. The village hosts an array of independently owned cafés, bars and shops all within a five minute walk from the property.

Five minutes drive away, the popular tourist hotspot of Uppermill (the largest of the Saddleworth villages) offers both modern and traditional bars, cafés, restaurants and shops. Here you will also find our tourist centre, historical library and a local museum which exhibits the history of the cotton and textiles industries in Saddleworth. Boat trips along the Huddersfield Narrow Canal can be booked from just outside the museum. A variety of arts, crafts, galleries and shops to suit all tastes can also be enjoyed. We would recommend a trip to the family-run Buckley’s Bakery for a sandwich and a Manchester Tart!

There is also a leisure centre in Uppermill incorporating a swimming pool, fitness classes and a gym. Close by, in the village of Denshaw, there is a private gym with a variety of classes and equipment. Private personal training sessions are also available. Saddleworth is renowned for its walking, hiking and cycle routes and we can recommend routes for all abilities.
