Great location

Recently converted traditional welsh single storey barn located on the farm, close to the main house. The main bedroom has superking or twin beds. Kitchen/living area has spectacular sea views with access to the private patio and an enclosed garden overlooking the farm and coast. Adjacent is a farm utility room with extra shower, wc, and laundry facilities - good for drying dirty dogs and wet clothes/boots. Direct access to the coastal path, 10 minutes walk along farm track.

The space
We are a working farm situated in a wonderful part of the Pembrokeshire National Park right on the coast. The Dairy is a recently renovated single storey barn with outstanding views of farmland and the coast from the large glass gable end of the property. The barn is on one level and benefits from underfloor heating throughout. The combined living/kitchen area has amazing views and direct access to the private patio and enclosed garden. Clever use of space has allowed the fitting of a fridge/freezer, microwave, oven, ceramic hob and dishwasher in addition to ample storage space and an extendable oak dining table for 4/6 people.

The living area has 3 seater leather settee, 2 tub chairs, sideboard, wall mounted flat screen TV with Freesat, Wifi, Ipod docking station, bluetooth speaker and woodburner. Books, DVDs and board games are available on request.

There is a large walk in wet room, with overhead shower head, handheld unit and shower stool. Illuminated mirrored cabinet with powerpoints and heated towel rail.

The spacious main bedroom can be configured with either a super king bed or two single beds (this needs specifying when booking). One window overlooks the old farmyard, two windows look out over lawn. Room darkening blinds. Underfloor heating. Wardrobe, bedside tables, dressing table, chest of drawers, bookcase, bedroom chair, mirror, TV, small desk.

The smaller second bedroom has a double bed, bedside tables, dressing table, cupboard and TV. Room for extra storage underneath the bedframe. Velux window in roof with room darkening blind.

We are very rural and have no mobile signal within and around the immediate vicinity of the property. It is possible to use your mobile by enabling Wifi calling on your phone or using What's App. There is a landline within the property for incoming and local calls.

A Welcome Pack contains a small variety of teas, coffee pods, home made bara brith, welsh cakes and some milk.

A travel cot, highchair and fireguard can be supplied on request.

Main season 7 nights only (check in/out Saturdays).
We are very busy March and most of April lambing and calving which is a lovely time to stay but we need to limit cleaning days so 6 nights only (check out Friday, check in Saturday).
4 nights minimum otherwise.
Flexible check in/out times depending on availability.

DOGS: Maximum 1 well behaved dog. We ask that dogs don’t go on beds or soft furnishings out of consideration for our other guests. Dogs should not be left for long periods of time unattended in The Dairy, if you are out for the day we may be able to 'dog sit' by prior arrangement.

In line with the Airbnb Enhanced Cleaning Protocol we are currently asking guests to complete some basic housekeeping tasks before they leave. This enables us to keep the checkout time as 10am and helps protect future guests and ourselves (whilst cleaning) . Please do not hesitate to contact us for further details.

Staying at The Dairy gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the amazing scenery, with access to a multitude of stunning coastal walks and activities, returning to a warm, hospitable and practical base. Strumble Head (Pen Caer) itself is a glorious wild stretch of the North Pembrokeshire coastal path and has been rated by the National Geographic Magazine as one of the world's greatest walks. It is one of the best sites in Britain to view porpoise, dolphins and seals which on occasion can be spotted in the tidal races around the headland using binoculars. There small 'secret' coves to discover including Pwll Arian (Silver Cove), Porth Maenmelyn and Pwll Deri where seals play - a walkers, naturalists, photographers and bird watchers paradise.

The coastal path is a short walk away down the private farm track, from where you can access the whole of the spectacular north Pembrokeshire coastline from the beautiful blue flag beach of Whitesands in St Davids to the harbour town of Fishguard and further north to Newport.

There are numerous beaches around, some completely sandy (Whitesands, Newport, Newgale etc...) Others a mixture of pebbles and sand which tend to be quieter in high season (Aberbach, Abermawr). The nearest beaches are Aberbach and Abermawr - a 10 minute drive or wonderful 2 hour walk along the coastal path!

The area is ideal for activities for all ages - surfing, sea fishing, horse riding and golf courses are all available in the vicinity, as well as boat trips to Ramsey (bird watching), Skomer and Caldey Island. This area is renowned for the quality of light and is a wonderful place for artists and photographers. There is a good leisure centre, independent bookshop and small independent cinema in Fishguard for those rainy days (plus supermarkets)! St David's is the smallest city in the UK with a beautiful cathedral and range of independent shops.

For those who like a little retail therapy, the nearest larger shops are in Haverfordwest (35 mins away), where there are a couple of small retail parks with M&S, Next, TKMax, Currys, DFS, Homebase, Wickes and Pets at Home. There are also several large supermarkets - Tesco Superstore, Morrisons, Lidl and Aldi in the town itself. Narberth (40 mins away) has a range of small independent shops and is known as a 'shopping destination'.

We walked part of the coastal path many years ago and fell in love with the area, little knowing that one day we would be privileged enough to live here. We moved to the farm about 3 years ago, and it has been a steep but very enjoyable learning curve. We are a working beef farm devoted to breeding pasture fed Red Ruby Devon cattle along with a small flock of Lleyn sheep. We have a total 170 acres, of which about 110 acres is pasture grazed by our cattle and sheep or cut to make hay or silage for the animals in the winter. We're Farm Assured, manage the cattle under the Premium Cattle Health Scheme, and are certified under Pasture Fed Livestock Association (100% pasture fed). We feel we live in a little bit of paradise and hope everyone that stays feels the same!
