Beautiful 2011-built house at the Rain Forest Preserve just above Dominical,Close to beach, surfing, tours, Dominical. Air conditioning in bedrooms. Pool/spa. View platform and decks overlooking canopy. No house ocean view, but 5 min walk to mirador

The space

Close to everything. Nestled in the Rainforest preserve with jungle on 3 sides of the house. Just up the hill from the famous Dominical surf beach, and a 10 minute drive into town. Pool/spa, wifi.

Guest access

House requires 4wd access as there are 6 switchbacks up the mountain to get to the Rainforest Preserve. You can walk down to the beach in 20 min and into town in another 20 along the beach. However, the return home is challenging unless you are physically fit, as you gain about 300 meters in elevation going up our driveway road just off the Costanera highway.

Interaction with guests

Prefer to talk with on the phone prior to final booking to make sure the house is the perfect fit for you.

Other things to note

Caretaker and neighbor on the next 5 acre-lot are Edwin and Sadie and their 2 children. They will do everything possible to make your stay as stress-free & enjoyable as possible. Sadie does laundry for a reasonable per-kilo fee. Edwin will guide you to the waterfall for a small tip and show you around.

This place is unbelievable. It's the perfect place to experience the famous Pura Vida of Costa Rica. At first the very steep approach through the switchback drive is a bit terrifying. You will really need that 4x4. But the reward is to find yourself in the middle of a rain forest jungle. Within minutes we saw our first toucan, which already made the trip worthwhile. Then we explored the area, enjoyed the pool, and most especially the walk to the waterfall. It's really important to meet Edwin and have him show you around. This was not only great for the stay, but memorable for our holiday. He is really special. Also the tent set out on the back was very special for us. My wife and I slept there so we could enjoy the evening sounds of the rainforest: myriad birds, monkeys, and lots of soothing evening rain, sometimes with some thunder. This is a remarkable place. We loved it.

Canopy. Vista is off the beaten track and a small world unto itself. 4 wheel drive vehicles are a must as the road truly requires it but the effort is worth it.

I am a 60 yr. old single adventurous woman who fell in love with this place in 1994, and then again when I revisited in 2005. I decided to buy property as a retirement getaway but I never intend to live year-round here. I enjoy sharing it with respectful guests. The people of …
