This 1906 historic home is nestled in the heart of the equally historic "Village of Kohler." Completely remodeled in 2019 adding Kohler spa amenities and modern touches to its original charm.

Mixing modern & antique furniture finds like the Hemingway Sideboard (which inspired the literary theme) make this historic hideaway a true Kohler destination.

The lower unit is reminiscent of an early 1900’s house – picturesque and charming. The original maple floors were restored throughout. Shiplap was installed on the living room and main bedroom ceilings as well as the bathroom walls.

Custom oak counter tops, new cabinets, and high-end appliances were added in the kitchen. And let's not forget the high-end tile and vintage Kohler fixtures that make the bathroom Kohler Waters Spa worthy.

A mix of modern and antique furniture make this house live well and feel like home. Baker furniture, previously a Kohler Company, can be found throughout the unit. A private front door entrance as well as side/back door entrance for easy access to outdoor living space.

ABOUT YOUR HOST

I’m Kristine and I’ve been coming to the Village of Kohler for decades. I knew when I retired from my career as a Hewlett Packard executive, this was where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Then in 2014, I found my "forever" home in the Village of Kohler. I feel like I have lived here my whole life.

I never expected to have a new career as an AirBnB host, but… I absolutely love renovating and restoring historic homes! I’ve taken my engineering background, my tremendous local knowledge and my Midwest hospitality, and applied it all to every little detail.

I literally live right next door so if you need anything at all, just ask!

The Hemingway on Church is located just one block west of Highland Drive (main street) and two blocks south of the American Club. Church Street House - Romance & Retreats and The Hemingway on Church are just four houses away from my South Road-Foursomes & Families, and 4 blocks away from Washington Walk Historic House and The Loft on Washington. With five choices, planning a large group get together is easy and fun.

GREAT PLACES TO EAT:

My local restaurant favorites are Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits Club Houses. Great prices for lunch, high cuisine for dinner. The fish fry at Blackwolf on Friday night is great (I prefer the lake perch over the cod), reservations recommended.

The Green House in The American Club is great for coffee/breakfast pastries, desserts and ice cream. The charming, antique solarium was meticulously transported from Chorley Lancashire, then reassembled in the Fountain Courtyard of The American Club to serve as a delightful garden café.

Blackwolf Run Golf course is a 2-3 minute drive and Whistling Straits Golf Course, home of the 2020 Ryder Cup, is about a 10-minute drive on the country back roads.

The Hemingway on Church is in compliance and licensed by the WI Department of Health, Sheboygan County and the Village of Kohler for short term rentals including six day or less stays.

Hi, there!. I can't say enough about what a wonderful destination the Village of Kohler is for a get-away, championship golf, Kohler Waters Spa, sightseeing and relaxing. The Church Street House, which is only two blocks away from the American Club, has private upper/lower apartments that could be booked together for larger groups providing space and privacy, all under one roof-wedding parties, golf groups and families love this option.
