The space

The cottage, called Lucignanello, it is an old historical building placed 2km away from Pienza, in the heart of Val d'Orcia.

Being our guests you would have the chance to be in an exclusive, historical and stunning environment.

All the rooms have INDEPENDENT entrances from the patio and can be independently rented out.

Our family has chosen to work in the countryside using the organic farming since over twenty years. Our philosophy is to use organic production

At disposal of our guests also a common area: fully furnished kitchen, living room & dining room where you can enjoy your meals.

Other things to note

The accommodation is in an historical building, part of the UNESCO World Heritage.
It's rustic, yet fully modernized, as much as permitted. The views are unbelievable (quote).

So please forget big paved roads, and the answer is no we cannot pave the road the place it is Unesco World Heritage. Please forget city conforts the roads are dirt and tiny roads.

If it was not clear, you will be in the middle of nowhere, most of the time you can enjoy the silence. Even though we are just 2 km away from Pienza and 3.5 km from Monticchiello.

Enjoy the silence. Respect our house and treat it as if it was your own. Leave the house in a suitable condition.

The drinking water (tape water) in the Natural Park of Val d'Orcia, where Lucignanello is placed, is a valuable asset,it is SPRING WATER, very healthy and pure but it is RATIONED consequently we kindly  ask our guests to use it carefully in respect of this environment (e.g. do not wash your clothes, pay attention to water while washing dishes, etc.)

The wi-fi internet connection is free of charge, it works better in the patio where the router is placed than in the rooms, the ancient walls are too tick for the wifi signal to be strong inside.

We did not want to install to many wifi signal repeater in a such "green" and unpolluted location.

The wifi password is written in the rooms, though.

The cottage it's called "Lucignanello", and it is placed at the top of the hill on the so called "Scenic Route" between Pienza and Monticchiello (Strada Paroramica Pienza- Monticchiello)

It is an UNPAVED and tiny countryside road, compared to the route you are used to, so it would be better for you to arrive BEFORE DARK to better find your way.

The double room has a private bathroom , but has no kitchen , however you have in your room a small fridge, a tea station with boiler and few tea bags&sugar , 2 glasses, 2 cups, 2 spoons, fork and knife.

Please tell us know what time would you like to have the homemade and freshly prepared breakfast served from 8.00 am to 10.00 am.

This is a very beautiful spot in Tuscany. I would highly recommend staying in this location. The morning breakfast on the patio was perfect. It's just a short drive on country roads to Pienza, Montepulciano, and other small villages. Be sure to have accurate directions on your GPS. I enjoyed 4 peaceful nights and days in this Airbnb.

Alessandro and wife are the sweetest couple on earth! They put their heart and soul into the B & B. The room smells very nice, and is very neat and clean. View is breathtaking. There is even a corner with a bar fridge/ toast oven, to make light snack, tea or have a glass of wine. The place is heaven. Breakfast is abundant, fresh, and healthy. We stayed for 3 nights, guests are in general quiet. Alessandro and wife are genuine. We met a few of the little cats in the farm, I wish I have food to feed them cause they are skinny little things. We miss everything in the farm!

Most beautiful farm with a view! My wife and I spent 3 days at Alessandro’s agriturismo. From the moment we set foot on the premises, we felt welcome and excited to be in such a magical place. Our room was cozy, rustic, and included a TV to show the Olympics. Bathroom was the best so far in our travels around Italy, having double to triple the amount of room as the other places we stayed. The amenities were perfect: olive oil based soap and shampoo, mini refrigerator with ice box, pantry with silverware, plates, and wine glasses, and toaster oven. There are 4 rooms on the agriturismo and a large common patio to enjoy the view of Pienza (did we mention the view is unobstructed?) The place is situated with Montalcino to the west and Montepulciano to the east. We thought it was perfectly located for all we wanted to see in Tuscany. One thing to keep in mind is the 10 minutes of driving on an unpaved gravel road to get to the farm. FYI there is a sharp turn from Pienza to get to the farm which is easy to miss. While staying here, you will likely also see some farm animals out your window. We had the local mare stop by and eat grass right outside our window, and I liked to go visit the pigs in their pens. The pigs had piglets, adorable. Also, you can hear the Pienza church bells ring on the hour which is a memorable event. Daniella and Alessandro are a sweet, caring couple who pay attention to your needs and always pass by with a buongiorno and smile. The real highlight of the stay was the provided breakfast. Fresh prosciutto/ham, eggs, cheese (cow/sheep), fruit salad, yogurt, pastries, variety of juices and jams….you get the picture. The couple put so much effort into the breakfast, you can tell by the revolving fresh food variety and table decorations. Daniella must have some professional cooking experience, her food was out-of-this-world good. (Oh yea, like coffee? Americano/espresso/cappuccino are offered with the breakfast too. While staying here, we visited Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza, Bagno San Filipo, San Quirico d’ Orcia, and drove around to try and find the Gladiator filming locations. We are sad to leave this place, but we will be back to visit this area again!

Our stay at this lovely agriturismo was an amazing experience! The location was great for visiting Pienza and nearby wine country. The views of the quintessential Tuscan valley were incredible. Our room was beautiful and well appointed. But most memorable were the farm fresh breakfasts made by the owner, down to the fresh baked peach tart and homemade yoghurt. Highly recommended for a peaceful Tuscan getaway.

Alessandro and his wife were very nice and welcoming. The breakfast was great. It felt good to have a home-cooked breakfast. The house was in a farm so it was quiet. We saw some pigs and horse walked around the house it was nice. The wifi worked well in our room. The location was as described quite remote. There was no paved road. Please be sure to buy insurance on a rental car. There were some bushes along the way that could cause some scratches on the car. I'd recommend people to stay here for the quiet environment and good view.

Alessandro's agriturismo is perfect. It's in Pienza, across the hill from the actual town on another hill. So you can sit outside and watch the sunset and the town. The place is very calm and refreshing to stay at. We stayed in Florence for 3 nights and here for 2, and I really wished we would do 3 nights here. Or even more 5 nights. The rooms are very spacious and clean, the breakfast is fresh and delicious. I would go back any time :). Also as the other reviewers say, the Airbnb pictures don't do justice. The place is very beautiful. so Just take my word for it.

Our family has chosen to work in the countryside using the organic farming since over twenty years. We live in Val D’Orcia, the land of clays and gullies; a few steps away from Pienza, in a typical cottage called Lucignanello on a hill surrounded by olive trees and ancient oaks. …
