This is a cosy, 2 storey terrace, just big enough for 1 or 2 people. It's a peaceful street & great location: secluded historic pocket opposite the Barracks, minutes from Oxford Street's shopping, arthouse cinema, eateries and buses to Bondi and CBD.

The space

This is a lovely 2-storey terrace, but it's small! Just right for one or two people, no more. It's a quiet, peaceful street and I've already made friends, so I hope you treat my gorgeous neighbours as well as I will treat you :)

I haven't lived here that long so need to do more to the place but that is mainly aesthetic e.g. bookcase and pictures. But for now it's got everything you need to be comfortable: queen size bed with 1500 count thread sheets, new towels, wifi internet, living room with flat screen tv, study desk, small kitchen but has a new fridge and all the basics (wine glasses and cutlery etc), an outdoor table and chairs in the courtyard, and a washing machine.

Guest access

You'll have access to the whole house.

Interaction with guests

You will have this place to yourself but I'll be available for questions, advice and moral support!

A delightful bijou apartment very well situated in Paddington, Sydney for a visitor to Sydney and with everything that is needed for a short stay. Charis was very welcoming and gave a useful run-down of the facilities and of the neighbourhood. A comfortable 3 day stay.

Great little place, very comfortable, in a lovely neighbourhood, walking distance to where we wanted to get to. I was only up for the weekend for work. Charis was a great host, and although we never met, she had arranged everything. Including a bottle of wine on arrival and a welcoming card! Very kind. Only downside is that with the bed upstairs, no fly wire on the windows (to keep the mosquitos out), no fan or aircon, and no blind across the skylight window, it might get a bit hot in the middle of summer.

Response from Charis:
Hi Iain, thanks for your feedback. Consider it all actioned! I only moved in a few months ago so haven't dealt with the heat of summer yet. Fan purchased today, and will call someone about a fly screen tonight :)

Charis was great at keeping in touch, and made me feel welcome. The house and locality tips (wifi access, local cafés etc) were very helpful, and the house itself clean and well prepared. Perfect location for public transport, shopping, eating out. Highly recommend!

We had such a lovely stay at Charis' cosy terrace in Paddington. She made us feel so welcome and at home. The place itself is very cute and ideal for a couple. What a comfy bed! Everything was spotlessly clean, and we enjoyed her coffee in the courtyard every morning. The surrounding area is lovely also, with old pubs full of character and delicious coffee and specialty bakers within walking distance. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Charis' terrace is a little slice of Paris in Paddington. We simply fell in love with the place. Spotlessly clean, ideally located (within a minutes walk to Oxford Street, the main artery from City to Bondi) and in a such a quiet street with a lovely outdoor courtyard and THE most comfortable bed ever. We had excellent and seamless communication with the host and really, couldn't recommend this place highly enough! It's a real Sydney gem. Thank you for having us!

my boyfriend and i stayed at charis' place for 6 days while she was overseas. she arranged for her warm and funny friend david to hand over the keys to us and give us a little tour. charis also checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was alright, which only boosted our comfort and confidence in sharing her space. paddington is a quiet, sophisticated neighborhood with lots of cute cafés and shops. there are plenty of buses to circular quay and bondi if you want to hit the tourist spots. we're vegetarians and had some great thai and indian food during our stay, but there are countless options for dine-in, takeaway, and delivery if that's your thing. the flat itself is charming and cozy, just as described. we loved the big windows, comfy couch, luxurious linens, and had a relaxing soak in the tub with bath salts from the paddington market, which is just down the road every saturday. there's space and equipment for cooking, a flat-screen TV with cable for lazy evenings, and charis left us plenty of storage space for clothes and toiletries.

Hi there - I'm a born and bred Londoner who has fallen in love with the Sydney lifestyle and my new place in Paddington (no coincidence I've ended up living up somewhere that reminds me of home!).

My top five favourite things to do within a stone's throw from my house:

1) Catch a movie at the local arthouse cinema, then walk up to Messina for the best gelato in Sydney
2) Walk up to the bus stop to catch the express bus to Bondi and meet my girlfriends for the Bondi to Bronte walk. Or, just go to Bondi Hardware for a cocktail!
3) Paddo restaurants are great, but I like to walk over to Darlinghurst for an amazing feed - Fu Manchu is my all time favourite with duck pancakes to die for.
4) Walk to the best pubs Sydney has to offer (I might be biased...) - Paddington is famous for them. Call me and I'll talk you through my favourites!
5) The corner of Glenmore Road and Oxford St is renowned for amazing fashion - we've got the best of the best round here unlike the other end of Oxford that has become run down. Wear yourself out then have a stunning lunch at Jackie's, with or without vino :)

I think air bnb is one of the best inventions of our generation! I can't wait to host people in my home and help them enjoy Sydney as much as I do - and not that I'm competitive or anything, but I want to provide one of the best experiences on air bnb :)
