This is a great apartment to stay in for a short break in Madrid. It is so centrally located that we didn't need to use the metro at all, walking everywhere we needed to go. The facilities and equipment levels are good, and the air conditioning is really effective. The bed is very comfortable, the flat is quite spacious, and the kitchen is adequate unless you want to make a fancy meal - as there is a limited amount of worksurface. Despite its location it is quiet, even at night, and the area seems quite safe. We were lucky to be there for the final stage of the Vuelta (Tour of Spain) which was very exciting. We didn't have quite enough time to see eveything we could have, as we took a day trip to Toledo (less than an hour by train, but book tickets in advance, as they sell out) which was amazing. Highly recommended!

Ricardo was waiting at the flat for us, and provided us with a very helpful map. The best thing about this apartment is its location in a lively, multi-cultural area. It is near the main sights and train station. The flat seems a bit tired and could do with freshening up. I would recommend it only for a short stay.

I'm a first time user of Air BnB and the experience couldn't of been any better!! The apartment is amazing and exactly like the pictures. The communication was excellent. As Oscar & Ricardo were away, we were met at the apartment by Raul who was lovely and showed us the must see sites on a map and gave us lots of tips on the best places to go/where to eat. He also told us to get in touch if we needed anything which is great support to have if we needed it. The apartment is so central we literally walked everywhere rather than get the metro! Staying in a lovely apartment like this is such an authentic experience rather than staying in a hotel. I would 100% recommend and if I ever go back to Madrid (which I hope I do!) I will definitely stay here again. Thank you lots, Emma.

Prior to our arrival- our host Ricardo was regularly in touch with every information we needed before we arrived [ bus & train routes ] We arrived in Madrid on Wednesday 25th & as promised our host was waiting for us @ the apartment. He helped us with our bags & showed us round the very neat & spacious one bedroom apartment with a balcony & a lovely green view. We had a comfy sofa, a lovely two door balcony, a tv and a dinning area. Very neat bathroom fully stocked with everything you need. A very clean comfortable bed with a massive wardrobe & fresh towels. Ricardo stayed with us for a little while & took us through the exciting & interesting places to visit via the map.He also swapped numbers with us to ensure that if we needed anything we should be intouch via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Our apartment was fully stocked with all the Modcons & even had white goods- it was just like being at home. We cooked & enjoyed ourselves. The location of our AirBnB was right in the middle of everything- 3mins walk from Lavapies station[near a 24hour supermarket ], lots of small shops in the areas,10min walk from Sol & Grand Via, another stone throw from the city centre and Place Mayor. If you love curry then you're in the right place as the high street was full of Indian restaurants & lots of exciting bars. We spent most of our time in town - Cava Baja[ restaurant galore] We stayed @ Ricardo's apartment from Wednesday 25th till Sunday 29th. On the evening of the 28th Ricardo preordered a taxi to pick us up at 5am and take us to the airport which was very kind of him . If you're looking for a great host, a lovely homely apartment, a perfect location to everything you need with 1-2 stops away from everything then please choose this apartment. You'll be glad you did. Thanks Oscar for such a warm welcome and for being such a great host.We will be back again if we come to Madrid. Toyin + Yemisi

We had a wonderful time in Madrid and having such a great place to stay definately added to the experience. We really appreciated how clean everything was, the quality bed linen and all the little touches - chocolates on the pillow! It's clear that Oscar really cares and want his guests to feel at home. The kitchen is stocked with basic ingredients (oil, salt, coffee etc) and there are lots interesting shops locally if you decide to eat in. The apartment was very quiet for the four nights we stayed and we slept really well - it's a very comfortable bed. Oscar was really easy to communicate with and answered our questions very quickly. His charming friend Ricardo met us, explained how everything worked in the apartment, provided us with a great list of places to eat and drink and told us about a really interesting art exhibition (which we went to and was great). We would definitely recommend the apartment and would love to stay here again some day.

The flat totally met the expectations. Conveniently located, spacious, has everything you need. A very pleasant place to stay! And reasonable price too. The host was very flexible with check in/out time, so that we did not have to worry about where to leave our luggage. We haven't actually met the host, his friend Ricardo have shown us the flat and also pointed out major city attractions on the map.

Oscar's apartment was the perfect place for my fiancee and I to use as a base to explore Madrid. The location is fantastic- walking distance from the famous art museums and the beautiful heart of the city where you will find many restaurants, tapas bars, and stunning architecture. The apartment is clean, secure, and well furnished. Its location on the street and with the bedroom at the back means it is very quiet, so you can also enjoy your sleep! Aircon was not needed in October, though was available, and having wi-fi was a good bonus. Oscar was not available to meet us in person, but he sent his friend Ricardo, who was very polite and friendly. Ricardo was very knowledgeable about the city, and gave us some sound advice on where to go and what to see given that we were only there for two days. Oscar was really helpful with emailing me advance with metro directions from Madrid airport (takes 45 min to 1 h, and good value for 5 euro each). Found the apartment very easily with his directions. While you are at Oscar's, you must try Cafe Melo just around the corner (right out of the apartment and right at the bottom of the road then about 100 meters downhill on the right). It's a no-frills tapas bar that's very popular with the locals, get here for opening in evening (I think it was about 7pm when we turned up though best to check). The specialty is a Zapatilla (giant pork and cheese sandwich), which is delectable and also huge! The house red is also a good drop.

I am a very open person, I like travelling, meeting people, reading, sports, culture... open air life and walks in the forest, mountains and beaches.
I speak fluent English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and some German.
Because of my work I need to travel a lot around Europe and I might be frequently outside Madrid, but my colleague Ricardo is supporting me when I am not in the city so he will welcome and take care of you during your stay.
