Description

The space

Our mini-farm is peaceful place, but still close to all that Asheville has to offer.

Recently remodeled, the house features bamboo floors, bright open spaces and a beautiful kitchen bar with van-gogh granite counters.

The farm is home to over 500 blueberry, elderberry & cider apples plants. The plants are young so they are not loaded with fruit just yet, but you are free to pick all you can eat in season (mid-June to late July).

Western North Carolina is the world's per capita leader in farmers markets and craft breweries with over 30 in the area, but we also have great restaurants, culture and music (amazing buskers downtown) too! Noble Cider is moving right down the road from the farm and plans to open in spring of 2015 and Addison Farms Vineyard and tasting room is just 15 minutes further north of Asheville.

Guest access

Bedrooms, private bathroom, living room & kitchen. All outdoor spaces.

Interaction with guests

I do travel alot these days to manage a 4 acre blueberry stand, Cedar Grove Blueberry Farm in Cedar Grove, NC, but if I am home I am usually working on the garden, cooking or playing with my daughter. I am happy to give any recommendations about food, sites, hikes etc. I've lived in Asheville for 14 years now, and owned a local wine distribution company, so I have an insiders take on the best restaurants and bars in town.

The neighbourhood

In the south we call it the 'cut.' Its basically a valley with one entry and exit. Its quiet mostly (on weekends it can get a little exciting) and reminds me of a small South American village. Nice clusters of small homes.

Getting around

No buses or trains. Taxi is about $25 to downtown. Uber can get downtown for $18 during non-peak hours.

Other things to note

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, I usually prepare it when I'm home and am happy to have you join us for breakfast. Just let me know.

Great little spot just outside of the city. It was our first time using airbnb and it was a great experience. Me my girlfriend and small dog had a blast on the trails this weekend. Thanks Lyndon! I can't speak for the other rooms in the house but the bed that we had in the blue room upstairs was very comfortable , kind of tough to get out of in the AM.

Lyndon & Amie's place was so wonderful! It was very clean and eclecticly decorated. I enjoyed looking at the art all around. It's also in a secluded area, so it was very peaceful. They have a newly renovated bathroom which was beautiful, with a spacious shower and tall, wide countertop. We never met Lyndon or Amie in person, but they sent messages throughout the weekend reminding us that we were allowed to eat whatever was in the kitchen, make coffee, and just generally checking up on us. It's so close to downtown Asheville, too, maybe only 15 min. They have wi-fi that works well with no interruptions. We would totally stay there again!

This place is AWESOME! They had a WELCOME on the chalk board in their kitchen with all important information listed there (i.e. access/password to internet, etc.). There were clean towels and wash clothes on the bed. CLEAN, RELAXING, QUITE! There were numerous travel guides in the room with area attractions, places to dine, maps, etc. JUST WONDERFUL! The bathroom was VERY NICE, CLEAN and stocked with anything you would need if you forgot to bring something. The living area was comfortable and cozy. Wish we had enough time to curl up on the sofa (which was so comfortable) and enjoy a movie. We enjoyed the yard which had numerous plantings (i.e. apple trees, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, herbs, BLUE BERRIES, etc.). The drive to the home through the countryside was terrific. Location THE BEST! Again, FANTASTIC; a warm, comfortable, amazing place to stay! Would like to visit again!

Me and my husband had such a great experience staying here! This was our first time to the Asheville area and we loved it! Our room at Lyndon's was comfortable and we had a bathroom to ourselves, which was nice! Communication between us and Lyndon was great too! We will definitely stay here again if we are back in Asheville!

We were in a bind after another AirBnB unexpectedly didn't work out for us, and Lyndon and Amie responded so quickly to our inquiry, ensuring we had a place to stay and could arrive within minutes. Their home is cozy and comfortable, with gorgeous views and conveniently located within 15 minutes of Asheville. Though two other couples were staying in the other rooms, we were on a separate floor with our own bathroom and had the whole place to ourselves most of the time. Amie and Lyndon were so incredibly easy to communicate with, the bed was super comfortable, and my boyfriend and I caught up on much-needed sleep during our stay because of how relaxed we felt there. Thank you both!

I couldn't believe how cozy this home was when my fiancé and I arrived for the weekend; we were extremely pleased to find out that the home was quiet and secluded and privacy was all around us. I couldn't ask for better location for all the stops we wanted to make, only fifteen minutes away from downtown Asheville and ten minutes away from the local dog park!! All in all it was such a great stay and I will be booking again in the future!

I'm Lyndon and my wife Amie and I, would love to welcome you to our home! I am North Carolina born and raised and never left Asheville after receiving my degree from UNC-A in environmental economics. In my spare time you can usually find me working or playing outside. We both love to cook, garden and spend time with Alexis, my lovely 6 year old Daughter. We are constantly working on building and establishing the farm here in Leicester, NC, but we also have a 30 year old blueberry farm and fermentarium in Cedar Grove, NC.

You are always welcome to join us for any meal we are enjoying. One of the best qualities about Asheville is the community, so naturally we mostly eat foods we have grown ourselves or grown by our neighbors, including local meats.

I also was a founding partner of Ashevilles only local wine distribution company and Amie has been a wine consultant for over 10 years so together we are well schooled in the best eats and drinks in Asheville.

We like to have fun in the house and enjoy playing music. Amie and I both play guitar, Lexi recently started piano lessons and got a Ukulele and Amie just started learning mandolin! We all enjoy learning about new ideas, people and places. We love travel and absorbing other cultures people and food.
