The space
Weavers’ Nest is a grand old lady nestled in the heart of suburban Plumstead and created 125 years ago by Sir Herbert Baker. His homes are known for their whimsical, twirly, chimneys, ornate gables and high ceilinged rooms. This gem is set in a lush tropical garden created over the last 20 years, with koi ponds, Balinese carvings and a bamboo grove graced by our own, resident pair of weaver birds.
Inside everything is bright and modern. There are three spacious bedrooms. One with en suite and two with a shared bathroom, an eat-in kitchen with all mod-cons, TV room with lazyboys, double work station with office chairs and a sunroom. In the garden there’s also outdoor seating and a BBQ.
The attic room can accommodate an extra single and the work station is fit for two digital nomads with loads of space.

Guest access
The garden and all the indoor spaces are exclusively for your use. The property entrance is shared with your host.

SECURE PARKING: There is space for one large and one small car undercover.
ARRIVAL PACK: Linen, towels, personal hygiene products, tea, coffee, milk, olive oil, spices, braai brikettes & rusks are provided.
LAUNDRY: Linen & towels are washed every 7-8 days.

I’ve been in the hospitality industry for 32 years and owned a restaurant, The Africa Cafe Restaurant, in the City Centre for 28 years. My house is a beautiful, old colonial, Herbert Baker residence with all the necessary space and appliances for relaxing, cooking and lounging by the pool with family, which is what I do when I’m not letting.
