Nestled in the heart of one of New Orleans’ most beautiful and exciting historic neighborhoods, this unique, sunny garden studio is the perfect retreat for couples, solo vacationers, and business travelers alike.

The space
This sunlit 300 sq. ft. studio has its own entrance and garden patio. The interior space is fresh and bright, with skylights and a sunny, lofted bedroom with a comfortable queen-sized bed. On the ground floor, there is a comfortable couch that folds out into a double bed, a well-stocked kitchenette, and a lush and shady patio that features an extra large hammock for you to enjoy during your stay.

The space is located on a residential street, just steps from legendary music venues and iconic local bars and restaurants. Frenchman Street and the French Quarter are an easy bike ride or ten minutes away by Uber/Lyft.

This studio is truly a retreat. Updated in 2019, it is designed to be as light and airy as possible in order to maximize guests’ comfort. It’s separated from its neighbors by tall fencing to ensure privacy and tranquility.

The studio comes equipped with a central heating and air-conditioning system as well as large ceiling fans to maximize airflow. The kitchenette comes with a large fridge (perfect for leftovers!), a countertop stove, toaster oven, and french press for coffee and tea. The bathroom is roomy, with a double-vanity and toilet, and features a private, luxurious outdoor shower.

Guest access
The space is completely private, with its own entrance and small garden patio to enjoy.

Other things to note
Please note that this unique space requires guests to be able-bodied enough to traverse uneven ground, and to climb a ladder to get to the lofted bedroom. The shower is outdoors-only.

Location

New Orleans, Louisiana, United States

The Bywater is a famously beautiful and artistic neighborhood, with plenty to eat, drink, and do. Once a sleepy suburban enclave of New Orleans, it has developed in recent years into a hub for emerging artists, inventors, and other experimenters of different stripes. That means that many homes in this part of town are extraordinary -- it's worth taking a bright, warm morning to walk around, checking out the architecture, colors, and garden decor in this community.

It also means that there are plenty of ways to have fun without having to go too far. Small, locals-only venues like Vaughan’s, Bacchanal, The Music Box, and BJ’s feature live music from legendary musicians almost every night of the week. Breweries and dive bars like Parleaux, J&Js, Bud Rip’s, The Domino and Markey’s Bar are around every corner, and famed cocktail bar The Elysian is a pleasant fifteen minute walk from the guesthouse. If you get hungry, there’s a variety of options, from Elizabeth’s to Bywater American Bistro, The Joint, Sneaky Pickle, The Country Club, Satsuma, Pizza Delicious, Red’s Chinese, Bratz Y’all and dozens of other places to grab a great bite or a delicious sit-down meal.

The neighborhood is bounded by the gorgeous Crescent City Park (just two blocks from the guesthouse) offers unique and beautiful views of the Mississippi River, a running path, and native landscape design. On the other side of the neighborhood, St. Claude Avenue boasts a fun nightlife scene full of bars, restaurants and art galleries that feature local and emerging artists in monthly rotating exhibits.
