This place is beautiful, but remote. The email communication prior to and after check in was very good. The gentleman that let us in speaks no English, but we managed despite our very poor French and he was very helpful as was his sister who came to help us settle in.

We had an amazing short trip and loved Philippe's home and all it's surroundings - it is truly a quiet and relaxing area with limitless beautiful countrysides and lovely small villages around, full of character. Philippe kept in contact and communicating was easy and prompt both before our arrival and after, even though we don't speak much French (although most inhabitants of the surrounding villages don't speak any English - but we still managed to communicate!). His sister Aline was very kind to greet us on arrival. The house was clean and cosy and full of character, and the outdoor area is simply breath-taking. Amenities (like lovely french bakeries, butchers and groceries) are just a couple minutes drive away in any direction (maybe 10 minutes).

A beautiful, peaceful setting. Very comfortable for 2 couples. Enjoyed meeting Philippe's father and sister but due to our very limited French it was difficult to converse. Did not get to meet Philippe but he did keep in touch by phone and e-mail. He had very good suggestions for restaurants and places to visit in the area. Would recommend staying at the farmhouse.

We felt right at home the moment we arrived. We never met Philippe but we briefly met his father and sister, who both were friendly and welcoming. The house is typical for the region, it is actually an extension of the father's house but it is completely independent. It was fully equipped and we found everything we needed. The only small downside was the fact that upon arrival we were told the dishwasher didn't work, which was a bit of a bummer because we cooked almost every day. That being said, we had a wonderful holiday here and we will recommend to friends and family.

Response from Philippe:

We were received by Philippe's sister Aline, charming and good humoured. The house sits on a hill and has magnificent views over rolling landscapes with fields and dots of oak forest with the Pyrenees towering in the distance. A wonderful place to relax and to come to one's senses. We also met Philippe's father, an elderly country gentleman. Great value!

What a fantastic French country experience! As the profile said 'beautiful farm', set in a wonderful country location. Surrounded by fields and woodlands with birds of prey, water fowl and deer everywhere. Only a few minutes drive to the nearest villages and with easy access to some of the regions fantastic towns, for me, it offered the best of all worlds. The property itself was delightful, the kitchen was complete and offered every convenience, tastefully decorated, high quality beds and bedding made it complete. I was there in winter and could only dream what it would be like to stay over in summer and enjoy the outdoor, undercover dining area that sits off the private courtyard over looking the small lake out the back. Wow. Thanks Philippe for making me feel so welcomed.

The house was beautiful and even better than we imagined it -- really quaint and rustic-looking on the outside, but with all the amenities and modern details on the inside. Philippe was a great host too! He waited for us at an agreed upon meeting point, and then drove us to the home. He showed us how to use the tv, heaters, etc and then came back later in the week to check up on us. We were there over Christmas so he even stopped by to bring us a little Christmas tree to help make the home more festive. He also made sure we had all the little items that we needed, i.e. extra toilet paper, detergent, hand soap, etc.. All in all, a top notch experience!
