About this listing

The space

Fantastic views over the city and lake in a peaceful rural setting that is just a short distance from Toronto and Hamilton airports and few minutes to the major highways.
This ground level, private suite is an ideal place from which to explore the area and cities around the Niagara escarpment, hike on the Bruce Trail, and enjoy a country retreat.
Newly renovated with two comfortable bedrooms, great kitchen and living area and a private deck.

Wake up to the sunrise over Lake Ontario. Step out to hike on Bruce Trail, or on the farm. A 10 minute drive to GO Train, Lake Ontario and the shops and restaurants of downtown Burlington.

Separate entrance, mudroom area for storage of bikes, snowshoes, etc. There is parking (for up to two cars). Washer and dryer (shared with owner) in common room next to apartment.

I love to show people around the property, get them started out on the trail and/or head down for some music and a beer at the pub nearby. (half hour walk down, taxi back). In summer months guests are welcome to get seasonal vegetables and herbs from my garden for their meals and join me out there anytime lol!

This is a beautiful place in all seasons. The best I can describe it is a cozy, cottage type retreat with spectacular city views. The property connects with the family pear orchards, but has convenient access through a quiet residential street in north Burlington.

I would suggest a car unless you are hiking through on the Bruce Trail or on a biking trip.
In winter conditions a vehicle with good winter tires or 4 wheel drive is a necessity as the driveway is on quite a hill. (We do get plowed out by the farm tractor when it snows).
There is a city bus stop about a 15 minute hike from here, which will get you to downtown, shopping or restaurants and the GO Train station with frequent trains to Toronto and other cities.
Toronto Pearson Airport and Hamilton airport are less than an hour drive from here. (depending on traffic of course)

I love having guests and sharing this place with people from around the world.

A lovely secluded "home away from home" that is close to the city of Burlington as well as Waterdown and Oakville. The house is warm and inviting with up to date / modern decor. Very warm inviting and Jeanne was just super. She made home made zucchini bread as a welcome and added fresh garlic and a warm baguette layer in during our stay. A really relaxing environment and would highly recommended this home !!

This is a fine place to stay, with an accommodating hostess and one of the nicest yards/views you could ask for. The living/eating area is comfortable and modern. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom, with another bathroom (which we would have liked) planned.

The location is off the main road and on a private driveway. This gives the place the peace and quiet that you long for. You wake up to an amazing view, with a stocked fridge that helps anyone with a jetlag. Since it is separate from the rest of the house and no neighbours around, it feels so privat. Jeanne was the most wonderful host and we will definitely come back! It was close to the city, but still had the remote feel. Lovely and absolutely amazing!

Jeanne's place is more beautiful than the pictures and the description. The view of Lake Ontario and the city was amazing! The apartment was very clean and cozy to stay in while we were in the area. Even though it is in the host's house, you did not hear any noise from upstairs. Jeanne had some lovely extra touches that made it feel more like a B&B and more cozy overall such as homemade banana bread and a large fruit bowl. The drive into Burlington was quick from the house (approx 15 mins to downtown). I highly recommend Jeanne's place and I hope to be able to stay again in the future!

Jeanne welcomed us at the door when we arrived, although it was late. The apartment was fully equipped as was the refrigerator! She had even left a freshly baked treat. The view was phenomenal, the property was beautiful. Jeanne came to speak to us before we left to ensure we had enjoyed ourselves. She responded immediately to a text I had sent her and had given us complete instructions to find her house. Excellent communication!

We enjoyed our stay a lot! It is a wonderful place to spend a vacation. The appartment is lovely and Jeanne makes everything that you feel good. The appartment has everything we needed and the location is perfect. It is quiet and safe there, but just in a view minutes you reach lots of shops and restaurants. Also it is not too far from Niagara and Toronto for a day trip. We so loved the view and sitting on the terrace. It is just relaxing! We can recommand this and hope we can go back there one day!

Jeanne User ProfileJeanne is a superhost.

I've lived in Burlington Ontario for much of my life. I grew up on the farm next door and still work part time in the family pear orchards. The other half of my working life is spent at a non-profit organization promoting healthy eating.
I'm passionate about growing, cooking and eating healthy delicious food!! I love hiking the trails in all seasons, skiing, sailing, yoga, board games and reading.
As my kids have grown and moved on, mostly ..., I created a separate apartment in the lower level of my house so I can share this beautiful space with people from around the world. I love to travel and after a wonderful experience with Airbnb this past summer visiting my daughter in Vancouver I am looking forward to the people I will meet both hosting and on further travels of my own!
