Interaction with guests
Guest interaction is always on the menu in this home :) We are social, but can be busy and hey you just may want to chill in your own space.
Importantly this is a HOME and NOT A HOTEL and thus there will be a certain amount of space sharing. We hope it will feel like a home to you, during your stay, as that was the prime point of Air BnB when it started. To stay in a home, not an empty house!
Your time at 'Cockatoos Calling' is important to us and we will endeavour to make sure you can relax and chill.
You are welcome to take Rocky Goodboy [dog] for a forest walk.
This home is situated high 280m within the Mistake Forest. Easy 4WD access to The Dungirr National Park in only 30 minutes, where you can view the surrounding area and down towards the south coast, high from the Bowra Sugarloaf lookout. A fantastic view point, great for a picnic.
The Forest roads are a great downhill MTB ride :) The host cycles often, so if you have two wheels and a good set of lungs, you are most welcome to join :)
Dig out your walking boots and enjoy a great 2 to 3 hour walk from the home, up to the top of The Whip Mountain 486m where you will be able to see down the south coast. A great place for a picnic!

Macksville is the nearest town and this would be around 15 to 20 minutes away and is where you would pick up supplies, if intending to cook your own meal in the evening.

Being a Pommie I made the move to Australia back in the early 90's. Having a desire to live in the countryside and be surrounded by mountainous views and forest. Exploring and discovering is the chillout part of my daily life.
I have a strong technical and creative aptitude, mixing my worklife as an Aussie Home Energy Consultant with artistic creation. I love the outdoors, wildlife, world music and importantly the peace, tranquility and solitude of where I live here at 'Cockatoos Calling'.
Such a great place, where importantly I love the chance to share all of this, with good company and maybe new friends, whilst having a good laugh. I look forward to meeting you :)
