We went with a group of 7 people, many of whom had not stayed in a hostel before. By the end of it everyone loved their stay! We enjoyed the evening activities that were scheduled and also the ambience and people were great! Great value accommodation and it was a good change from staying in hotels :)

Wonderful hostel that promoted a strong sense of community. Met a lot of very interesting international travelers and the staff was very friendly as well. Definitely made the trip to San Diego that much better. Would gladly book again!

This place is a great choice if you are traveling as a young college student like myself. It is very affordable and they provide almost all basic necessities you would find in a hotel. The staff is friendly and will answer any questions necessary. There are digital locks on the door so I never worried about losing a physical key and others getting access to my personal belongings. Gaslamp and other local eateries are within walking distance and the hostel is nearby the freeway for easy access. Parking is somewhat difficult, there is a lot of metered parking during the daytime and a parking lot across the street that is about $17/day. My party of 10 booked a bungalow to ourselves. We all had our own bunk bed and bathroom. There are bathrooms/showers in the main house as well so no one needed to wait in line to use the bathroom. Overall, I would recommend this place for lone travelers and group of friends.

Location was great and convenient. I really enjoyed having our own bungalow. My only complaint would be the food, but there are so many restaurants around that it seems silly to complain. This is the second time I've stayed at an ith hostel (big bear adventure hostel) and the staff is always kind and helpful.

Fantastic experience! Our group of friends went down and stayed over night and the staff was welcoming and very friendly. The hostel is clean, bright and cheery and there are a lot of people staying to meet and talk with - I would definitely recommend staying here if you're in the Little Italy/Gaslamp area of San Diego :)

I am from San Diego and love hosting travelers from around the world. My partner and I created the eco lodging experiences in San Diego which allows travelers from around the world to interact with other travelers from many different cultures!

After a few years of hosting guests in San Diego, we decided to create a beautiful Mountain Lodge experience in the mountains of Big Bear Lake catering towards guests of all ages and backgrounds.

I spend the majority of my time in San Diego helping out with the hosting, but I do try and make it to Big Bear at least twice a month to enjoy the mountains!

If you are going to be visiting us in Big Bear at the Mountain Adventure Lodge, our managers, Rudy and Ian will be pleased to assist your with a wonderful stay.

We have a strong passion for showing people a great time and making sure they enjoy their holidays! Please be sure to ask if we can help you out at all! :)
