Where you’ll be

Livingston, Izabal Department, Guatemala

Rio Dulce offers a natural stopping place to or from Honduras (Copan), Mexico (Palenque), Tikal and Belize. The Nature House is right on the famous La Ruta Maya, the ancient Mayan Route leading to and from historic sites. This also is the jumping off point for the Caribbean village of Livingston and the inland phenomenon of Semuc Champey.
Courteous and knowledgeable staff members will arrange transportation. Finca Paraiso as well as Boqueron Canyon are in the immediate area. The property is located in mangrove forest with access to walking trails leading to a primary road where one can choose to walk (or take a tuk tuk) to Castillo San Felipe or Fronteras.

Guatemala is my home. The Magic Rio Grande Valley of Texas was my growing up place. Especially beloved was windswept and wild South Padre Island. Now, Guatemala is my favorite place. I love the people. Their kindness, goodness, wisdom.
