The space
Marion is one of the oldest, quaintest, and historic seaside villages in Massachusetts. One hour from Boston; 50 minutes from Newport, RI; 40 minutes from Providence, RI; and 15 minutes to historic New Bedford, home of the fascinating New Bedford Whaling Museum and the fun Zeiterion Theater. Cape Cod is only 15 minutes away as well (as long as you time it right!) with it's many scenic and cultural sites.

Marion is quiet and private with a couple of good eateries in town and nearby. Plenty of local preserves offer good walking in woods and around cranberry bogs. House rental includes guest pass to private town beach (Silver Shell Beach). Important note: minimum one week rental July and August.

Guest access

Location

Marion, Massachusetts, United States

Marion is a small, picturesque waterfront community that we like to consider the South Coast’s best kept secret. This coastal town has something to offer all ages: sailing, tennis, golf, art, beautiful beaches, gift shops, and restaurants. Visitors come from near and far to experience such events as the Buzzards Bay Music Festival, ArtWeek, Mattapoisett’s Harbor Days. Over 40% of Marion is protected land, with trails leading through forest, around cranberry bogs and to Buzzards Bay views. Virtually every convenience is within walking distance. Marion is conveniently located just one hour from Boston (also close to the MBTA commuter rail into the city), 40 minutes from Providence, and 40 minutes from Hyannis. Also, the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard is just 15 minutes away in New Bedford. We have all of the attractions of Cape Cod, but without the tourists and traffic!

Marion is also home to Tabor Academy (grades 9-12): Known as the “school by the sea,” Tabor is a private preparatory boarding and day school, home to students from all over the world, offering accelerated academics, competitive sports, and an enriched educational experience. Tabor also offers one of the most popular summer programs in New England, for children ages 6 and up.
