Interaction with guests
Minimal. We leave you to your business, but make ourselves available when you need us. Most of our guests come and go as they please having little contact with us. It's like your own apartment. Not awkward like some Airbnb arrangements.
No curfew or lights-out.
We are LGBT-friendly and also welcome families with children. The apartment is not toddler-proof; there are too many moving parts to the exercise equipment. Children under 5 are not a good fit for this space.
We love hosting Gonzaga parents/students: at least half of our guests.
This is a home with an active family, so you might hear the pitter patter of a small child running upstairs during the daytime, never after 9 p.m.
While we love to host new Airbnb members, we prefer members with a history of good reviews who understand how the experience is different from that of a corporate hotel.
Hands down the nicest neighborhood in Spokane: quiet, well-maintained, upper-middle-class families, safe.
Tons of turn-of-the-century homes, Olmstead-designed streets, and amazing parks. Sacred Heart Medical Center is less than one mile way (an easy walk). One block from Manito Park.
Nice restaurants and shopping within easy walking/biking distance, so a car is not required once you get here.
Bus stop at the end of the block. Busses come each 30 minutes to downtown and all over the city (cheaper than parking). Bicycle-friendly neighborhood.
Spokane now has a thriving UBER presence. Trips downtown are about $7 each way. The bus is $1.50.
Other things to note
The apartment is not toddler-proof; there are too many moving parts to the exercise equipment. Children under 5 are not a good fit for this space.
We do not accept reservations from guest with fewer than three positive reviews.
Did you see the bathroom and library?
Many guests prefer self check-in/out, especially when arriving late at night. We're happy to accommodate this by giving you the door code day of arrival.
Our second bed is a futon with the best 8-inch innerspring mattress available with a foam topper.
Under no circumstances do we allow guests to bring home visitors. Only guests listed on the reservation may enter the apartment.
No third-party reservations.
We're not always around to give you a tour, so guests MUST be OK with self check-in/check-out using the door code we will provide day of arrival.
There is some soundproofing in the basement, so feel free to listen to your music or television as you wish.
Use of gym equipment is AT YOUR OWN RISK. Owner assumes no responsibility for injury.
Absolutely no animals, drugs, guns, vaping, or smoking anywhere on the property.
Kids are OK--we have one as well--but NO PETS.
Guests must NOT bring their own linens (sleeping bags, etc.). We've never had an issue with bedbugs and would like to keep it that way.
Laundry is not available for guest use, but there's a clean and affordable laundromat down the street.
Insurance prohibits use of the playground structure on the property.
PARKING: Out of consideration for our neighbors, please use park on the street directly in front of our house, not in front of a neighbor's home.
Please do not remove books from the library.
I'm a college instructor originally from Auburn, Alabama, currently living in Spokane, WA with my wife and son. We've both travelled widely while in our 20s, and loved the no frills, budget travel experience as well as meeting new people during our travels.
We're open-minded and love to get to know new people.
