Comfy room in a nicely remodeled 1927 Bungalow close to the MAX train, Airport, Freeways and Bus Lines. After a busy day in Portland, return to our home, enjoy a glass of wine by an indoor or outdoor fire. Place a piece of salmon on the bbq, or just chill.

The space

Our 1927 home has been renovated with an open floor plan including an updated gourmet kitchen and dining room with great access to a private backyard. You will find a comfortable guest room that yours to enjoy.

The maximum occupancy of this room is two, assuming you are sharing the double bed.

Your room includes a comfortable double bed, dresser, chair and large closet. Our first floor, kitchen, dining room, access to back yard and bathroom are yours to use at your leisure. We have an upper floor bedroom and basement tv room for our use, so you can have some privacy if you desire. Our backyard is equipped with a fire pit, bbq and smoker, so if Portland leads to culinary adventurousness, we have you covered.

Light breakfast items will be available for you to start your day out right. Enjoy these in the dining room or out by the rose bushes, as you prefer. Breakfast may include: coffee, teas, juice, muffins, fruit, cereal or similar items. As previously noted, if you feel adventurous, you can cook up a NW inspired omelet in the kitchen if you want a larger breakfast.

Having moved to Portland 20 years ago, we have a wealth of info about the city. We love our city and are more than willing to provide insights and suggestions. If you prefer to learn on your own, we are more than willing to provide you with space to do so.

In general, we both have Mon-Friday daytime commitments. This means we are mostly around in the evenings and on weekends intermittently. When we are around, we will work hard to find the time you need from us, to get settled in and to ensure you have what you need to make your stay is enjoyable.

In NE Portland, at the edge of Montavilla and Rose City Park, we are close to all modes of transit. Our neighborhood provides a short ride on the train to the city, easy access via car to points north, south east and west. We are a quick cab or train ride from the airport, yet we are in a residential area with little through traffic. This is a great spot to stage your Portland adventures from. We've been at this location for almost 20 years, and find it to be a low-key place from which to plan excursions and adventures around Portland and the beautiful NW.

The MAX (train) is an 8 minute walk, the bus is about a 2 minute walk. We are on a bike route, so if this is your preferred mode, just bring your bike! If you have a car, there is on street parking.

Terry and I are East Coast transplants who have come to love Portland a great deal. We are glad to open our home to visitors and share what we have learned about the NW with fellow travelers. Our home is co-inhabited by two cats, one who is extraordinarily friendly and the other is blind. All we ask in regards to all inhabitants of our home is the respect you would give friends or family We want you to be comfortable sharing our space and to enjoy your time in the city we have come to love so much.

We were warmly welcomed to Heather's home and had a very comfortable stay. We were able to use the kitchen as much as we needed and Heather made some great coffee in the mornings. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. Great hosts!

We've been travelling for 4 months and this was one of our favourite places! Heather and Terry are just both so lovely and we really enjoyed chatting with them. The house is big, clean and really nice. The room is beautiful and so comfy. The bathroom is shared but always spotless. The cats are adorable!!! It's easy to get downtown both by public transport and driving, but there are also lots of really cool places nearby. Totally recommend staying here when you're in Portland!

Heather and Terry were lovely. They both had plenty of stories and advice, but were out and about a decent amount and gave us plenty of space too. The place is a bit further out from the main hubs of downtown/east side etc but the fact that it's just off the main light rail line makes it super easy to navigate to/from. The house has been given some major loving by these two. The kitchen is so bright and new, would have been a dream to cook in if we'd had the time! Also, the breakfast bits n pieces they had for us were great to start the morning with. The place was clean, both hosts personable and the bed was comfy. Thanks so much guys!

Heather and her husband were amazing hosts. We felt right at home as soon as we met them. They are very friendly and communicated really well with us and were very nice about working around our schedules. We loved our time in Portland and where we stayed made the experience a lot more comfortable. We also loved the heating blanket! Thank you so much! -Lea Lippert

Heather and her husband Terry were lovely hosts who gave awesome suggestions for late night food and groceries. They were very welcoming and their two cats, Fluffy and Buddy, were the cutest. The room was perfect for two people and we were provided with towels and extra blankets. Would stay here again!

I like to travel to new and favorite places, to meet new people and try new foods. I enjoy quiet places with a good book, a nice view or a little music. I believe these all are better when accompanied by a friend and or a nice glass of wine. I live in Portland OR and…
