Where you’ll be

Mooresville, North Carolina, United States

Couples will love the privacy but those with younger kids will love this place since the magic fire-pit has been known to provide surprises, more than just roasted marshmallows (if the kids have been good), plus there are stories that can be told of Dinosaurs and Goose Princesses on the nearby islands.

Older kids will love the freedom to get away on their own to explore on one of the boards or kayaks, even the rowing shell (much faster) if they are willing to learn. Or they can get away on their own on the 8’ X 8’ swim platform.

Fishermen, you’ll love this lake, the largest fish the owner has caught from the dock was 38 pounds. You’ll find Largemouth, Striper, Bream, Crappie, Catfish and more in these waters. Basic North Carolina fishing license costs $18: Inland Fishing 10-Day(basic) Statewide inland fishing during the 10-day period specified on the license. Includes fishing in joint waters. It does not include fishing in coastal waters. A $2 transaction fee as mandated by NCGS 113-270.1B may apply at time of license purchase. For more information go to NC Wildlife website.

Hi, I am Rick. I am presently working at a nearby power plant. I am a handy man/jack of all trades and even built this house myself with the help of friends back in the late 80's. Judy works part time at a nearby spa and the rest of her time maintains our home and gardens along with keeping me straight. Judy and I enjoy the lake life and love sharing our experiences with others. I am now in my early 60's and Judy is not far behind. We'd love to have you come visit (especially the kids!).

During your stay

Owners live on the property, but will provide guests with as much privacy as desired. Since both owners work most weekdays they are gone during working hours.

Sorry, No Parties

If you don’t mind the owners sharing the dock with you they will certainly not mind taking you on a ride on one of their boats (10’ dinghy, 16’ Hobie Cat, 25’ Pontoon (fully enclosed and heated in winter), 30’ Sailboat and a 14’ 1958 runabout the owner is presently restoring). They are even open to providing paddling, sailing, rowing or wind surfing lessons but most importantly lessons on how to relax while floating with a cool beverage. Please inquire about these options via messaging.

Owners also have a dog on the property that is controlled by an electric fence (the shock collar does not have probes on it so it cannot shock). She’s a 13-year-old dog, very friendly and will bark for you to come play with her or at deer sometimes during the day but is inside at night.
