We were warmly received by Sophia despite our late arrival, and settled in quickly. We rose to a lovely setting and a welcoming home. The farmhouse is spacious and nicely appointed, with a warm and open feel to it. Our party of two families was very comfortable. Sophia surpris…

Sophia made our arrival late at night very easy and left milk in the fridge for morning coffee. The farmhouse is almost 200 years old and yet open on the first floor, which is an unexpected delight. Evenings around the woodstove were delightful, as were walks along the dirt roa…

The farmhouse was fantastic. We stayed here as part of a family reunion-- others stayed at various places in the area. Perfect for a large group. We loved waking up and having coffee with the view from the kitchen, walking in the gorgeous grounds. The house itself very comforta…

Sophia came over and introduced herself which was very nice. She asked us if we had everything that we needed. The description was fairly accurate.

Response from Sophia:
Hi Lois, Thanks so much for staying here. It was nice to meet you four grandparents of a lucky child. And thank you for your suggestions. I hope you found adequate bed covers upstairs! Did you try turning up the thermostat? I have upgraded the Airbnb description to explain the old fashioned oil heating system which is not central, but relies on heat rising to the degree that it can through floor ventilators. We are doing our best to leave the smallest possible footprint while maintaining the character of the house, and are considering a cold-climate heat pump. That may be more efficient with our solar panel, but will still depend on the natural process of heat rising. We have always lit the wood stove at night in winter to avoid burning more oil than necessary. I appreciate and will follow up on the other suggestions, too. Happy New Year to you and your husband, and come again any time. Sophia
