The space

Plumfield Stable is a family homestead that is located on 230-acres of beautiful, rolling farmland located within the Eurkea Maple Woods of Wisconsin's Driftless Region. It is an active horse farm with both indoor and outdoor arenas. Supervised, in season trail rides are available on our homestead for an affordable fee for our guests. While you're here, you will enjoy the beauty of the hills and valleys as you view the immediate area from our ridgetop location and the quiet setting on a dead-end road. In addition to the breathtaking night sky and its incomprable display of stars, we often have an unobstructed view of sunrises and sunsets.
You'll see our Amish neighbors farming their land or heading to town in their buggies. You are also likely to see deer and wild turkeys in the fields.
Family Friendly? For the interest of children, there is a neat playhouse, as well as a 3-level tree house to explore. In the spring and summer, the children can also enjoy the baby ducks, baby goats, and baby rabbits. There might also be St. Bernard puppies and adorable kittens to play with! For the toddlers, there is an enclosed play area with a sandbox and swings.

The loft and property are beautiful! I didn't know what to expect but it was all above and beyond what I imagined. Carol and her family are kind and very willing to help out in anyway they can. We got to explore, play with the baby bunnies, took an afternoon trail ride and had a wonderful time. My grandma who lives about 45 mins away from the farm got to stay with us one of the two nights, she absolutely loved it and didn't want to leave either :) I would highly recommend staying at the Feltens as we can wait to return next year!

Our second stay at Carol's place and once again it was wonderful. Such nice people and a very nice, clean place to stay. The location is wonderful, too, as it's a short drive to Cashton, Westby, Viroqua, and of course, Amish country. Great place to go walking or driving, and the most beautiful countryside in Wisconsin. Thanks again and always!

My friends and I had a wonderful weekend at Carol's family estate in Cashton. From the personal tour of the loft to the beautiful sunset horseback ride, we absolutely loved our time out there. We checked out Wildcat Mountain State Park at Carol's recommendation and thoroughly enjoyed the hike we did there. Great first visit to Wisconsin's Driftless Region, we can't wait to return!

This is a great place to stay off you are looking to get away from the noise and traffic. It's an easy drive Sparta, Westby & Viroqua where you can buy groceries or find a restaurant.

My husband, Ron, and I are in our 70's and we have shared 52 meaningful years of marriage together. In 1972, we purchased a 120 acres of farmland and moved here from Wausau, WI. Later we purchased another adjacent 120 acres of farmland. Our farm has been home to an unusually large family of biological and adopted children, all of whom are now grown. Our farm remains family-friendly. Our family has been supported by my husband's CPA practice which he operates out of our home.
The property with its hills and valleys is indescribably beautiful during all seasons of the year. The surrounding area, home to many Amish families, is quiet and offers a variety of activities for vacationers.
