Stylish first floor apartment, fully equipped for effective self catering to sleep up to 4 guests in comfort.

The space
Apartment Chic (Flat 2, 4 Handlth Terrace, Barmouth, LL42 1RD) occupies the whole first floor of our building and is a completely self-contained 'home-from-home'.

There are 2 separate bedrooms, the double room has the sea view and a juliet balcony.

There are 2 single beds in the other bedroom. All linen and towels are provided for your stay.

We have an open plan living room incorporating a dining area and fully equipped kitchen.

There are sea views from the large bay window. For entertainment we have the smart tv and dvd/bluray player and of course effective wi-fi is available and free.

The bathroom is fully fitted out with a bathtub and shower available. The apartment has full gas central heating and constantly available hot water under your control.

Outside at the front of the building there is the terrace with furniture and the barbeque for outside dining.

We will usually be here to greet you and we look forward to welcoming you. We live upstairs and are generally available if you need us.

Parking is available nearby, there is a pleasant shared terrace garden area overlooking the trees, the park and the coast.

Guests may appreciate great views over the bay from the open plan living area which incorporates the fully equipped kitchenette.

Everything is close by so you don't need the car. The beach is just a 7 minute walk across the park and the town is a 5 minute walk.

Just a short walk from the town centre, the park and the beach whilst pleasantly situated in an elevated position.

Barmouth is a beautiful part of Snowdonia to visit. The terrace is in a quiet position, high above the road just outside of the town centre overlooking the park, but close enough to walk in to the shops, pubs and cafes etc. As well as the stunning beach and harbour there's a great selection of independent shops including a gorgeous furniture and homeware store as well as a co-op, spar and Iceland for food shopping which are just 5 minutes walk away.
Unless you want to head further afield you can park the car on arrival and forget about it until you leave if you want to.

If you want to get out on the when you're in Barmouth, try Stand Up Paddleboarding with SUP Barmouth. The waters here are perfect for it and the Mawddach estuary is number 2 on Red Bull's top 10 UK Paddleboard Adventures to tick off.
Barmouth sits on a narrow strip of land between the mountains and the sea so there's loads to get outdoors for. There's mountain biking, walking and cycling all on the door step so let me know what you're into and I'll make some suggestions. Cadair Idris is a great alternative to Snowdon. It's never very busy and the views over the sea and Snowdonia are stunning. There's leaflets in the flat for other ideas.

If you're going out, you can't beat The Last Inn for food, good beer and atmosphere, Bistro Bermo (listed in the Michelin Good Food Guide) and the Bae Abermaw for an evening meal or Sunday lunch. Davy Jones' Locker for a coffee on the harbour, The Lobster Pot for breakfast and Isis for salads and pizza. Knickerbockers and Fudgeridoo are awesome for ice cream and everything chocolate. Goodies is a fantastic coffee shop that has a great breakfast and the most amazing home made cakes - look them up on Instagram!
Try the Min Y Mor for a beer garden right on the beach (just across the park from the flat) and the Celtic Cabin for gorgeous street food right on the promenade. If you just fancy fish and chips, the Mermaid is great or try the Harbour Fish Bar and eat them right next to the water in the garden opposite the Last Inn with a pint!

The restaurants often get fully booked at weekends and the summer months so do book in advance if you want to eat out.
If you find yourself out of luck at 8.30pm when most kitchens close, The Mermaid serve fish and chips until 9.00pm so eat them on the benches in the garden opposite the last inn with a pint and enjoy the stunning view of the harbour. The Indian restaurant, Saffron is another good late option. The food is great here and you can always get a takeaway and eat it back at the apartment if all else fails.

There's always a good night out in Barmouth whatever your tastes.
There's live music in The Last Inn every Tuesday (open mic) and Friday night and The Barmouth Hotel also has live music on regularly, check the board outside the pub for more details. The Min y Mor often have a band on outside in the beer garden during the summer.
If you're planning on a big Saturday night out, the Last Inn has a DJ from 10pm- 1am, The Barmouth Hotel also has a DJ and dance floor upstairs until 1.15am and we have North Wales' famous Nightclub, The Venue (its still The Sandancer to the locals even though the sticky carpet went with the refurbishment) which is open until 3am. Don't wake the neighbours on your way home ;-)

Getting around

Everything in Barmouth is within walking distance of the flat. The beach, town centre, supermarkets and two pubs are a 5 minute walk, the harbour and (my local) the Last Inn are a 15 minute walk.

The quickest route to the beach is to go across the park via the path opposite the bottom of the drive. It will take you over the railway footbridge and straight onto the promenade in 6 minutes.

If you want to venture further afield and explore up and down the coast do try the train. Like everything else in Snowdonia, it's a really laid back experience. We often take a bottle of wine and some plastic glasses and head to Aberdyfi or Criccieth for an evening out. You can sit on the train at a table looking at the sea having a glass of wine and the conductors will ask you where you're planning on eating. Aberdyfi has some nice pubs and a couple of nice restaurants and Criccieth has Dylan's on the seafront and a great Chinese and Indian too.

We have enjoyed hosting since January 2019 and have had over 200 nights of happy guests lookiing for a self-contained "home away from home" staying with us in our first year.

From solo business travellers, retired couples, families with young children, to bikers, walkers and groups of friends sharing a weekend away, all have enjoyed our accomodations and their respective facilities and benefits.

The town itself as a great point from which to venture further around Snowdonia.

We have been fortunate to be around to greet most of our guests in person and look forward to welcoming more, and it's really nice to have had returning visitors already.
