Where you’ll be

San Antonio, Texas, United States

Originally built in 1904, the MARIGOLD is a 600 sqft, fully-renovated and updated historic bungalow situated in San Antonio’s oldest historic district — Lavaca. At the turn of the century, residents of Lavaca were primarily middle class, German-speaking immigrants.

To read more about the Lavaca Historic District — https://www.sanantonio.gov/Mission-Trails/Mission-Trails-Historic-Sites/Historic-Districts-Neighborhoods/Lavaca-Historic-District/Lavaca-Historic-District-Expanded

Today, Lavaca is still as vibrant and diverse as it was one hundred years ago — revealing a patchwork of colorful homes as unique as the people living in them. We’ve lost count of all the new coffee houses, restaurants, revived breweries, unique shops, art galleries, and parks that have opened recently — so, we encourage our guests to explore and to let us know when they have an incredible experience somewhere, so we can share it with our new guests.

I’m a lover of food and wine, animals and architecture with a passion for hospitality and an extreme case of wanderlust! I grew up in Las Vegas and enjoyed traveling around the world to many incredible places — New Zealand and Belize being two of my favorites. During that time, I became a professional sommelier, and had the opportunity to travel even more — this time for work! I also lived abroad in the Pfalz region of Germany for a few years before finally deciding to call San Antonio home. Now, I have all of the things I love right in my own backyard, and I am so fortunate to be able to host guests traveling to San Antonio on their own adventure!

During your stay

This property is lovingly 'owned' and managed by me and an occasional co-host. We truly care about what we do and feel that our guests are not only the best part of hosting, but that they are the “reason” why love to host.

We are respectful of our guests’ privacy, but we are available to answer any questions you may have or to share our favorite local haunts.

Hosting is truly our ‘PASSION’ and we are always striving to do everything we can to ensure our guests enjoy their experience with us. We are always looking to improve — our communication, our amenities, our services, and our actual homes.

We are also passionate about the history and architecture in our neighborhood and do our best to maintain our homes’ historic charm and appeal, while constantly updating them as often as needed. As you may have guessed, historic homes require constant work to keep them in tip-top shape — so, we appreciate any feedback from our guests about anything they notice that may need to be repaired.

The best way to contact us is via the messaging portal in the Airbnb app. In case of emergency, we can also be reached at (830) 484-6559 between the hours 8:00 am and 6:00 pm.

We hope that our guests find our homes to be a relaxing respite after a day of travel, exploration, work or all of the above! We look forward to hosting you!
