We were a set of three families who decided to book a place in the hills and catch up. I was a bit worried about this place not being how it looked on the website. It was every bit of that and much more! What won our hearts was the warm hospitality extended by the staff. I have been to similar properties but nowhere have I experienced such great warmth. Food was simple and Delicious and always served hot and fresh! The washrooms were well equipped. Given the difficulty in managing even basic amenities at such remote locations, we were quite spoilt! Its ideal for people who want to soak in the nature, and just disconnect from the world. The chirping of the birds and lovely view is refreshing. If you are looking for being at a place to relax and feel close to nature and not have a particular itinerary of visiting "top 10/x tourist spots around the place ", then this place is perfect. This property is however not for people who have difficulty in hiking on steep terrain. Its a good 1.5 hours climb for people with normal fitness levels. But a very enjoyable hike. Am looking forward to visiting this property again.

We had a wonderful time. This is an amazing property in the middle of the forest. I would especially like to thank the entire support team at Jilling. They were the highlight of the trip. Their warmth was unmatched. Will definitely be back soon.

Heaven with unlimited supply of pure O2.The view from the room is a real bliss. I personally liked the 2km steep trek to the property. Once you are there, it’s a different world altogether away from any city noise. The only sound you hear is of birds and insects which is a rarity now a days. Cherry on thje cake was Mr. Dilip who is the care taker of the property and he made our stay an unforgettable one. He and his team provided us with unparallel hospitality. The trek to the ridge is a must for all as it had beautiful view of the valley. Would love to visit again…. Now for the cons… 1. Place is great for couples only and not for kids as there is no fencing around the property. 2. The floor of the rooms make hell lot of noise as they have loose wooden flooring. The beds too have to be mended. 3. Upon our check out the manager of the place, Ms. Ashima was present but she didn’t even greet us or asked us about our stay so big thumbs down for that…. 4. The windows didn’t have any latches and it was very windy so we were always afraid that the glass panes might break. 5. The door or the windows didn’t have any mosquito/insect wire mesh and we were treated with unlimited supply of those…. Overall loved the place and hope that the owners give weight to the cons and take steps to eradicate them…..

Kudos to the owners for keeping this place so pristine. We had a wonderful experience, truly a place that disconnects you from the hustle & bustle of regular city life, giving you a chance to connect with your family. The trek up was not easy but to our surprise, our three year old managed it. The staff there was very courteous and readily helped us with anything we needed. The home-cooked style food was good too. The rooms are rustic and basic but have all amenities. The weather was perfect! Rain and hailstorm with no electricity added to the adventure quotient of our stay! Would definitely recommend to those looking for a real break.

Our experience at Jillings Terraces was one of my best on Airbnb to date. Rajeev and his staff were the most warm and friendly of any place I've stayed. They provided directions, met us at the bottom of the path with horses to carry our luggage and selves, made the most delicious food, even asking us our preferences and packing us a to-go lunch on our last day. I can't recommend this Himalayan gem enough. You must also take the short 15 minute walk past the home to the top of the hill with a stunning view.

The top of the hill is a quiet place. It's amazing that the listing looks exactly like the pictures. And sometimes even better. The sunset and sunrise at Jilling are not to be missed. We got some really good pictures and memories out of the trip. The entire host team - Rajeev, Sheela, the estate managers Dilleep and his wife and the cooks are extremely welcoming. Jilling has an interesting history. Do ask the estate managers about it. All meals are covered in the stay. The common dining area is filled with stacks of books. Which is always a big plus in my opinion. The uphill climb (2 km) can be a bit difficult. It took us 50 minutes. We climbed up at 1.30 in the morning when temperatures were touching 12 degrees. I had to stop a couple of times to manage my breathing. The downhill climb took us 30-35 minutes. Jilling is in Matial village of Nainital, a drive of 90 minutes from the Kathgodam railway station. It was a unique experience. And I would definitely visit again next year. This time for a longer period.

It is a beautiful property!!! more than the photos!! amazing hospitality and dont even get me started on the yummy food! the only things you should keep in consideration : reach the matial village a lot before the dawn because you dont want to rush to get to the resort since it is an up hill trek and for somebody as unfit as i am it was quite difficult! we had to rush cause it was getting dark! had it been morning we would have taken our time and enjoyed the trek. second catch - if its cold you would like to take a room on the ground floor with the fire place! rest everything is absolutely perfect!! the sun! the dog - tumbler! the people! the food! the rooms! even the huge bathrooms! would definitely plan a trip there again :)
