It's hard to describe how idyllic this place is, we had the best holiday ever. The plot is huge with so much space to run around, play hide and seek or just sit and look at the beautiful view. It's very isolated, we hardly saw anyone else the whole week. The cabin has two double bedrooms downstairs and an open plan attic area upstairs with up to 5 beds which has a low roof but is ideal for kids. The kitchen/living area is open plan, outside there is a spacious veranda with table and chairs. There's a sauna (in a separate building) and a hot tub (outside), both are wood-fired so you need to start the fire up a couple of hours in advance, but worth it when you are sitting in the hot tub looking out on the lake and looking up at the stars. There's a huge deck area next to the lake to sit and have lunch, BBQ or smoke fish. The plot faces south so has sunshine all day, watching the sun go down over the lake is stunning. There's a jetty out into the lake, and a rowing boat and paddle boards. The immediate area of the lake next to the plot is shallow water and bordered by reeds so it's safe for kids to splash around in. There's a bit of rough sandy beach, our 6-yr old had a good time building sandcastles. This is definitely a rustic holiday, no internet or en-suite bathrooms but our 3 kids (6-15yrs) finally shook off their electronic devices and spent time playing hide and seek, splashing in the lake and collecting pine cones. We saw red squirrels and woodpeckers in the garden and picked bilberries. We spent most of our time at the cabin as it was so lovely in itself, but there are numerous walking trails around or islands to explore in the boat. There's a small shop about 10mins drive away and supermarkets about 20mins away. Pete the owner was great at communicating with us, I would definitely come to the same house again, if you haven't been to Finland then you should come, it's such a beautiful country and we will be back.

I and my friends spent at Pete's cottage for 3 days. We were suprised by the great view from panoramic windows, nice terrace and large beach area with sauna house and hot tub. The cottage is cozy, warm and bright. There are 2 rooms, kitchen, bathroom and living room on the first floor and common space with 5 beds on the second floor. The kitchen is fully equipped. But we found only one bathroom in the house that is not so comfortable for the group of 9 people. Nature around the house is beautiful and peaceful. Pete is very nice host, who was always available and answer all our questions. Thank you very much! I think we will come back soon :)

We had a wonderful time at Pete's house. It is even prettier than on the pictures. I would totally recommend staying there. The only thing you should consider before booking, especially when you're coming by plane, is that you have to bring bedlinen and towels yourself.

Response from Pete:
Varalla on aina tuotua juomavettä. Palautteessa mainitut asiat on nyt korjattu. Kiitos huomioista.
