A beautifully restored comfortable and spacious 3 bed Victorian family home in the top village of Runswick Bay, in the North York Moors. The beach is a five minute downhill walk away. The house boasts original features, as well as all modern conveniences and parking. Excellent for the Cleveland Way
Our house is a traditional and beautifully renovated Victorian house. It features a large sitting room, large dining room, dining kitchen, two double bedrooms, one single bedroom, bathroom and separate toilet. Both bedrooms and the bathroom are located on the first floor.
Guests can arrive at any time from 4pm, and we ask you to leave by 10am. Guests will have access to the whole house apart from the box room which we lock for our personal storage. We do leave some of our personal belongings there, we ask that guests replace any food items that they use, and respect our belongings. We will provide bedding for use during the stay but ask that guests bring their own towels. 1 Upgarth Close is on the right hand side of the road behind a hedge, and its parking for one car is just outside. Upgarth Close is a private road. Please do not park additional cars anywhere else on the road or park more than one car - the other residents can get very funny about this! There is more parking close by.
Interaction with guests
Guests are welcome to call and/or email me as many times as they want in the run up to, and during their stay. I am more than happy to answer any questions about the area or the house or help during the stay, although it is unlikely that I will personally be there. The keys are left in a key safe and we send details of the code in the week before the stay as we change the code regularly for security reasons. If it gets to three days before you arrive and you've not got he code, chase me - we have had the odd occasion of emails not getting through on the Airbnb system
Other things to note
Due to the popularity of the house and the area, during school holidays (Easter, Summer and May half term) we have a minimum booking of 7 days. We may take fewer on negotiation, but this would be at a surcharge. We also operate a minimum booking of three nights on bank holidays
No smoking or pets. Sand to be brushed off at the door and avoided on the furniture! Please don't move around any of the furniture aside of in the dining room or kitchen.
Parking for one car is just outside. Upgarth Close is a private road. Please do not park additional cars anywhere else on the road or park more than one car - the other residents can get very funny about this! Breakages happen, but please let us know if they do, and ideally leave a contribution for replacements in the pot in the dining room. If you use the phone please leave money in the pot, and note that we're on a tariff that doesn't have any free calls, so all those made should be paid for.

I love my house! It's such a shame that our work commitments don't let us live there all the time, hence letting it out. My husband and I met when we were children in Runswick Bay, so the place holds a really special meaning for us. It's a stunning village, with the best beach in the area, and an excellent point from which to start beautiful walks and exploring of the North York Moors.
We love travelling and showing the children new things. We are very family orientated.
I'd like to think that as a host we have thought about our visitors. Our house is really well equipped, comfortable and clean. It has been a labour of love to make the house as lovely as it now is, and so far guests have really enjoyed their stays.
