The space

Visiting Brooklyn? Why stay at a hotel? Enjoy the charm of historic tree-lined blocks and stately brownstones with a stay at Gallerie St. Charles.

The Gallerie St. Charles, an art-rich renovated top floor of a Brooklyn brownstone, is conveniently located near world-famous Brooklyn cultural attractions and Manhattan is a short subway ride away.

Set on quaint St. Charles Place, one block from landmark, tree-lined Eastern Parkway, Gallerie St. Charles is walking distance from internationally-renowned Brooklyn Museum, the Botanic Gardens, the Brooklyn Public Library’s Central branch and Prospect Park.

Coffee shops, burger havens and gourmet delis are just 2 short blocks away. And there’s free on-street parking and garage parking for a fee two blocks away.

Lower Manhattan landmarks and midtown Manhattan attractions are 20 minutes and 30 minutes away, respectively, making Broadway theaters, world—class shopping and restaurants easily and quickly accessible options.

An IRT subway station with eastside Manhattan express trains and west side Manhattan-bound local trains is 1½ blocks from Gallerie St. Charles.

Park Slope neighborhood’s shops and eateries and Downtown Brooklyn’s cultural institutions, like the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the MoCADA museum, are even closer.

The Gallerie St. Charles accommodations include: three rooms in a serene art gallery-style setting, a full-service kitchen, cable TV, sleeping for four persons, maximum (two single beds) and as of 2/1/2014 a new feature is a queen size real bed with a firm mattress.

Rate is $175 per night with a minimum stay of three nights required. Hotels in the area average $225 to $350 for basic rooms. This is a three room apt.

Response from Linda:
Lydia and family were excellent to host. They treated my place like home and even emptied the trash when they left. I recommend them highly without any misgivings. I hope they consider my place for their next visit to New York.

Linda was very friendly and welcoming, and was very quick to respond if I had any questions. The apartment was spacious, sunny and immaculately clean, as well as really handy for shops and restaurants. The subway was just 3 minutes walk, and a quick ride into Manhattan.
