The space
Our modern, cabin style accommodation is at the mercy of extreme alpine weather conditions. If you want to escape the rat race and reconnect with nature, Alpine cubes NZ should do that for you. With some of the best star gazing in the world, an ever-changing skyline, fresh air and water straight from the mountains, you will feel alive here.

A 50m2, architecturally designed cabin thoughtfully fitted out with quality interiors and furnished to a high standard.

The cabin sleeps up to 6 people comfortably, comprising of a queen bed in the main bedroom and two bunks (four beds) in a second bedroom. Each bed is fitted with its own night light and USB charging port. All linen is provided, including towels.

A wood fired hot-tub is available to guests. The hot-tub will be cleaned and refilled prior to your stay. Due to extreme weather conditions and occasional fire bans in the area, we will assess this service prior to your arrival and you will be notified on the day if we cannot provide this service (rarely are we unable to light it).

Where you’ll be

Ben Ohau, Canterbury, New Zealand

At the foot of the Ben Ohau range, we are a 2 minutes drive from the picturesque Lake Ohau.

For all of the cycling enthusiasts we are a stones throw from the third section of the Alps to Oceans cycle trail - Twizel to Lake Ohau Lodge.

If fishing is your avocation, you will be handy to the hydro-electric system (canal) connecting the glacial lakes Ohau and Benmore.

Or... maybe walking, hiking or mountain biking is your leisure pursuit, in which case there are several awe-inspiring tracks to explore in this area.

Whatever your pastime, this area accommodates most, including nothing other than relaxing with a nice bottle of vino.

Twizel is a 15 minute drive away where you can gather most supplies from the town. It hosts two supermarkets, several restaurants and cafes, a hardware store, pharmacy, medical centre and more. There are also many visitor attractions and activities available to explore. You can also hire an array of outdoor sporting goods such as kayaks, fishing rods bicycles and more from local retailers.
